Re: AK-47, AR-15 or M-16?
It's a tool, it's like asking which is better a hammer or a sledge hammer.

AK for close in work is brilliant, won't fail you in a pinch, cheap, has great penetration, blast through walls and doors at will, without alot of practice though only accurate out to about 100 yards, 200 if your good, after that your just hoping you hit something.

AR accurate, precision tool, lethal bullet do to it's unstable projectile once it enters flesh. Doesn't have the power or penetration of the AK, more accurate at long distance, (MUST KEEP IT CLEAN) This is a precision tool, although some versions are becoming more rugged, and more dirt proof.

M16 Full auto, great weapon, accurate at distance exact same as the AR just a little different platform. Like the guy said above if it's a full auto you need a license, but if you believe that the zombies are coming, and you feel comfortable hiding it, and not getting caught with it because you think government will (A) be your enemy in the near future so it doesn't matter, or (B) will no longer exist very soon because of their collapsing power base, and currency default then who really gives a shit, take what you can get and prepare right. I mean if we're going to be living in a world of no laws, I doubt if anyone is going to be asking you for your class 3A license.

lol anyone else sick to death of retards regurgitating this same old bullshit? ac072 wouldnt know a dressed up 10/22 from an AR.

let alone what accuracy is.

AK is PLENTY accurate for anything you will ever need.

True, but... it's an old gun. It doesn't travel fast enough the rounds are specifically more heavy and you can't carry as much ammo. Also, you cannot fire as fast, due to the recoil. IMO. The m468 or the scar is leaps and bounds above the AK.

An M16 is fully automatic. So, you probably can't own it.

Basically, either one (AK47 style or M4 style) will do the job. Both have pros and cons. The biggest thing you can do is get realistic training. Also, you need more than one. You need a backup. Then, you need a backup for your backup.

The weapon is important. But, the person using the weapon is the most important.

Hmm... I was under the impression that they sold semi-auto M-16s; but I may be wrong. Thanks for the response.

cheers

the m-16 and m-4 and ar-15 are basically the same rifle. the "M" is for military. the m-16 as produced for the military is selective fire, semi auto 3 round burst, full auto. howerver the bolt carrier group from the civillian version ar-15 will fit the reciever of the m-16 so you could build a semi auto only m-16 or m-4 for that fact

you say old design, i say proven design. yes you can carry 2x as much .223, but it takes 3 or more hits to put your target down vs 1 with 7.62x39 so your better off with 7.62 in the long run.

.223 is a great gun for women and children to use.

The AK 74 is also a great gun and it replaced the 47.

Re: AK-47, AR-15 or M-16?
AR-15 (or AR-10)
-more modular/accessories/sound suppressors
-various calibers (5.56, .223, .7.62x39, 5.45, 7.62x54, 6.5 grendel, 6.8 spc, .458 socom, .22lr, 9mm)
-many configurations and platforms (short barrel CQB carbine to 24" precision barrels)
-Can shoot 15,000 rounds of shitty Wolf ammo WITHOUT cleaning, just keep it wet. (That's how I like my women, wet and dirty)

Instead ofany of those buy an ak 74u it's a pretty damn good gun and the ammo is cheaper than any of the ammo for those other guns. Oh and it's fairly cheap too. You can get one for roughley $300
