Finally we get to put an end to these hippies once and for all
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1422753

I wouldn't call them hippies, occupy protesters are a pretty wide ranging group. But you really think it's okay to treat corporations like people? Give tax breaks to companies that are stealing from the American people and buying frivolous bullshit? Then I'd say those protesters are a lot more informed/moral/patriotic than you. Calling them hippies and dismissing what they're trying to accomplish is really unwise.

I know this statement is like beating a dead horse, but... we should all remember what happened in Nazi Germany... this is almost exactly the same course of events, just the names and faces are different.

If they started sending those protesters to rehabilitation camps, would you start to worry then? At what point would it start to dawn on you that this is a crisis of human rights?

so let me get this straight,

If I want to protest the federal government I cannot protest the federal government as a citizen of the country that the government represents without doing so illegally.

WHAT THE FUCK!

Congress you are scum.

Nope. The other day the Chicago chief of police was telling how he was overseeing the training of 12000 officers in the process of 'mass arrests' as an answer to the Chicago G8 (prior to its venue change). Now you have to bet that the NYPD and DCPD are training in such mass arrest procedures as well. Especially since OWS just recently released its spring Wallstreet occupation hectoring agenda.

Obviously something is wrong here, because they passed this too quick, without letting American citizens opposition organize. Senate is bullshit. They pass it on the basis if their own statures. The public really needs to take control NOW.

I hope they have massive protests this year. I hope people seize land and build shelters. Squatters rights is the future because they've taken everything else.

US Congress passes authoritarian anti-protest law Bill H.R. 347

A bill passed Monday in the US House of Representatives and Thursday in the Senate would make it a felony—a serious criminal offense punishable by lengthy terms of incarceration—to participate in many forms of protest associated with the Occupy Wall Street protests of last year. Several commentators have dubbed it the “anti-Occupy” law, but its implications are far broader.

The bill—H.R. 347, or the “Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011”—was passed by unanimous consent in the Senate, while only Ron Paul and two other Republicans voted against the bill in the House of Representatives (the bill passed 388-3). Not a single Democratic politician voted against the bill.

From article:

H.R. 347 expands an existing federal criminal statute – Title 18, Section 1752 of the United States Code, or the “restricted buildings or grounds” law. The law was originally passed in 1971 and was last amended in 2006.

I don't mean to defend the law, only saying that it has been around awhile.

What will they say or do when no one comes to their campaign speeches? Would that make Joe Wilson who spoke out during Obama State of The Union a possible felon?

If someone protests at Romney or Santorium's speech are they now felons? This is a slippery slope and I think it will end up only biting the Tea Party and not the Occ.

This is a terrible law as was the Drone one.
