Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2926765 That 100 cops can't stop 10,000 people. They will bag a few people, let them slip away when no one is looking. They few that stick, will only fuel more. These corrupt retards are awakening something they will regret. This is exactly what TPTB want. They want OWS and others to revolt so they can declare martial law. When this happends, and if people have enough balls, then a civil war will start to take back our country. |

The other day the Chicago chief of police was telling how he was overseeing the training of 12000 officers in the process of 'mass arrests' as an answer to the Chicago G8 (prior to its venue change). Now you have to bet that the NYPD and DCPD are training in such mass arrest procedures as well. Especially since OWS just recently released its spring Wallstreet occupation hectoring agenda. Anonymous Coward User ID: 1273076 United States 03/05/2012 09:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | US Congress passes authoritarian anti-protest law Bill H.R. 347 Quoting: Kiljaeden the Banned A bill passed Monday in the US House of Representatives and Thursday in the Senate would make it a felony—a serious criminal offense punishable by lengthy terms of incarceration—to participate in many forms of protest associated with the Occupy Wall Street protests of last year. Several commentators have dubbed it the “anti-Occupy” law, but its implications are far broader. The bill—H.R. 347, or the “Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011”—was passed by unanimous consent in the Senate, while only Ron Paul and two other Republicans voted against the bill in the House of Representatives (the bill passed 388-3). Not a single Democratic politician voted against the bill. More: [link to www.wsws.org] From article: H.R. 347 expands an existing federal criminal statute – Title 18, Section 1752 of the United States Code, or the “restricted buildings or grounds” law. The law was originally passed in 1971 and was last amended in 2006. I don't mean to defend the law, only saying that it has been around awhile. |

Would that make Joe Wilson who spoke out during Obama State of The Union a possible felon? Quoting: anonimalle If someone protests at Romney or Santorium's speech are they now felons? This is a slippery slope and I think it will end up only biting the Tea Party and not the Occ. This is a terrible law as was the Drone one. I agree. Seems like there could be some unintended consequences in this legislation. |

Our Supreme Court is just as treasonous as our Congress, if they don't strike down this garbage as unconstitutional. Whatever happened to checks and balances? |

The Senate may well never even bring it up for a vote. The Senate seems a little more resistant to stupidities like this than the House -- though not always. "Congress passes ..." usually means "House and Senate both pass and send to the President ..." but that's not the case here. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4596203 "Congress passes ..." usually means "House and Senate both pass and send to the President ..." but that's not the case here. That said, it is a very bad thing, because now the House has passed it forever, and 10 years from now the Senate could pass it and send on to whomever is then President for signature, without the House at that time even being involved. They should require any bill to be passed by both chambers in the same session. That unfortunately is not required by the Constitution. That would avoid also the bullshit move that was pulled to pass TARP. As you may recall the House refused to originate the bill, and the Constitution requires all spending bills to originate in the House. So the Senate pulled out some bill the House had passed years earlier, that had nothing to do with the subject of TARP, then "amended" it by removing every single word in it and inserting 400 pages of TARP language, then passed that and then it went back to the House for "reconciliation". Under special rules that apply to reconciliation, it was rammed through (the House agreed to the 100% change in content and meaning and went along with the new bill) and on to W for signature. |
