Without giving away to much personal info, a few years back when this pope came to Australia I actually got VERY close to him - work related. Never liked him before this visit (just bad vibes)and wasn't looking forward to giving up a few days to 'celebrate' his arrival here...
Anyway he literally smelled of roses and he was totally hypnotising (sp), his english was almost flawless. Once I got loose of the 'spell' I felt totally freaked out.
I still shudder when I think about.
