The most disturbing thing I heard in this clip is that he would seek ANY approval necessary to JUSTIFY his actions, whatever those actions may be. There is no doubt in my mind that he believes that, if approval cannot be found elsewhere, he could simply grant himself permission (well, with the blessing of the pope or somebody like that perhaps). This will lead, and is leading, to not seeking approval from anyone except himself and/or his super-secret handlers.

Panetta was telling Congress that yes, the President and The Congress can, at it’s discression, declare war – BUT, really only in defense of our nation our our direct national interests. Panetta was also very clear, because he mentioned Libya and Bosnia twice, that he and the DOD and/or the Pentagon DOES NOT need permission from The President OR Congress to involve themselves, militarily, in “kinetic actions” – meaning that Syria – no Congressional permission will we sought BEFOREHAND, but they may notify Congress AFTER the fact. Yes, you’re reading this correctly.

Panetta and crew state – right to THE FACE OF CONGRESS – nawww, we don’t need your permission to use our men & women in our military for war – UNLESS that war specifically involves defending our nation or national interests. Panetta keeps repeating the fact that they WILL NOT ask Congress to use our military in instances such as NATO or UN involvement. Yes, you read it again. Apparently, the NDAA, the shredding of our Fourth, First, Fifth, – basically ANY/ALL of The Bill of Rights is now defunct – since they claim it’s too antiquated – they are just going to make up a new set of rules as they go along – just as long as they agree with them and most of our international allies as well – to Hell with what The American People believe, think, or say. In fact, they are now blatantly telling us that if we even dare protest their new rules – we can be beaten, assaulted, detained, and not given the right to counsel and/or not ever even be charged with a crime.
