Should I take my money out of the bank?
It's such a toss up with what to do. With all the talk about 2012 and the scary weather etc, I'm thinking I should take all my money out of the bank, just leave in the necessary.
What is everyone here doing? At the same time, I don't feel right/safe having it in the house.

Bank deposit accounts are a bad investment due to the extremely low interest rates. Money parked in a bank is losing value because interest is far below inflation.

Pulled all of mine out of the bank and keep it in the house. If you are in the city you could always buy a personal safe to keep it in and hide that somewhere. It would be best to stock up on what goods you think you will need as when the system crashes money will be worthless.

Here's a question for you...I just took out 20,000 from my RRSP's to pay off my debt on a CC. Should I pay it all off or 1/2 of it off and buy silver with 1/2?

Re: Should I take my money out of the bank?
I heard that when Greece goes bust.....Europe will have a severe banking crisis that will spill over to the US.

Then the US will go "dark" in terms of Banking.

Severe restrictions on money withdraw will be implemented and we will have 6 months of TOTAL CHAOS.

We're talking burnings and lootings in the big cities and people won't be able to hardly buy gas or groceries.

Best to take a big hunk out now.....Stock up on food and medicine as well as vitamins and come up with a family/friends but out plan.

You won't be able to bug out when this Shit hits the fan.

Am I saying this will happen next week ? I don't know....but you better make preps now for this event because it won't be pretty and we will probably see a mideast war as a good cover so people will not march on washington.

Better be prepared. Now I think they will fix this banking crisis....but the US and the world will never be the same after this.

I'd take the money out of your bank, keep at least 3 month's cash at home, invest in gold/silver/ammo if you have the money, and then go to a local credit union and put in however much you need for electronic transactions and/or credit.

Money does not matter(well a little bit) in a total economic collapse.
Food, water, roof over your head, people/ friends/family, energy, heat, medication, seeds...staff like that!
Most of you people watch too much tv, it will not be like that :)
If we have an economic collapse it will be mostly quiet and painful and will survive the one that has more of the above.
I've been thru one....and survived :) and it was not pretty, but not like a Hollywood movie either tounge

Re: Should I take my money out of the bank?
I don't know why I'm so hesitant to stock up on things, I mean, I have started stocking food and water and a few other things, I could definately stock many more things, but it's that little birdie sitting on my shoulder saying, oh, everything is going to be fine, don't spend your money.
I wish we all knew that for sure something is going to happen this year and we will for sure have nothing unless we buy it now.
Someone must know the truth about what's going to happen if anything?
I don't live in a area where there are earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, etc, so what else could happen?

Re: Should I take my money out of the bank?
I am trying to take mine out but they keep delaying me. They were to send me information by mail but they only sent me an empty envelope. I had to wait 5 days before they would send me another one. When I asked for another one they said it will take them two days just to get that in the mail. They keep throwing roadblocks up. I am putting it in a local savings and loan.

That little voice in your head is Satan telling you it will be okay and nothing will happen. When everything goes down you will be left fighting out in the streets with everyone else trying to survive over cans of food. I can't say blow all of your paychecks on stocking up, but a decent supply of goods can't hurt.
