but it's not random... facebook and google are extremely powerful organizations in their use for data-mining and social herding. i doubt that either are run by boards of people that are NOT in secret societies.

even if they have no power or not understood completely( i would find it hard to bleieve that someone would even be able to), all symbols can act as an organizational principle.
