Recently we were going out and I wanted a particular piece of jewelry. In my family we call it the "dead kid" tear drop. It's a big silver tear drop, passed down to folks that lose kids. My mom gave it to me after my son passed and her sister gave it to her after my sister passed.

It's a nice piece, but I wear it very rarely. But for some reason I wanted to wear it that night. I have one of those stand alone jewelry cabinets and I remember it hanging in there, but when I went to find it, it was gone.

I went through everything, even got hubby looking, and the thing was gone. A couple days later as I was getting in bed a little voice in my head said, "look now". And I opened the lid of the little cabinet and the tear drop was sitting on top, like it had always been.

I was so angsted that I would have to tell Mom that I had lost it, but then it reappeared. Damn.
