Several thing need to be watched for.

For starters, the Earth spinning faster or slower making the calendar worthless. This is why the Mayans stopped. Many things can cause this from large EQs, meteors, galactic plane alignment, or a Nibiru type drive by. Personally, I expect it to start spinning slower. I am expecting around 26-28hour days.
