A shout out to any fellow artists!!!!!
How does one find their sacred space?

I want to color the world with the sound of God. To paint a tree you must become the tree. Get into the pattern that creates the forest and replicate.

Art is meditation on the divine. I've noticed recently that in order to create I must tune in. Music helps, but it needs be at a vibrational level that allows one to let go. When I try to create as an artist I become filled with this incredible feeling of trepidation, unless I can find a way to not think. In letting go I'm free and soar for a moment. It is meditation. I feel as if we are so clouded and polluted with this present reality that to seek to tune with a divine rhythm becomes the only escape. Do we all seek to be pure, to be free? How do we overcome this world that pulls us down?

Can't force creativity, but you already know that probably. Drugs are fairly useful, just have to find the right one to be in a relationship with, as McKenna said.

I think at some point we all seek what you are seeking, especially as artists or creators.

i think what you posted at the top of the page was art in itself but nlike you i am an artist of words. i like where you are going with this i am gonna add you to Blist if ok.
And also my advice to you is to purposely create some quick random crappy work with no point then try to bring whatever your looking for out of that crap thats what i do sometimes.
good luck fellow artist.

Ok, it's cool if you don't want to do a bunch of DMT or ayahuasca. The visuals are epic though.

One thing that is good for the creative types: I got it from Palahniuk, who talked about it at a lecture he gave. He called it the egg timer method. When you don't feel like doing whatever it is you do, put a half hour on a timer. Just tell yourself you're going to do this for a half hour and get started. The magic is that once you get going, the half hour will be up, but you'll be fully immersed into what you're doing and will most likely continue. Neat trick.

you have to start small.
if you want to paint, doodle every day
if you want to write a novel, pick up a pencil and write anything
if you want to make music, start humming every day.

each journey starts with one step.
there is no miraculous way. you just start and you keep going.

Never forget to make time for yourself...and find out what sparks your light...then all creative forces just seem to flow after that.

I like the egg timer method. Seems the first step is always the hardest for me. Once I get going time ceases. It is that overcoming having my mind in so many places thing that is hard. Also the feelings that go with it.

Sure thing, you just won't hear or see the egg timer. Mission accomplished, I guess, in that case.

Re: A shout out to any fellow artists!!!!!
I make stringed musical instruments. It is art! No two could ever be the same. When working on them, I can imagine people still enjoying the sounds long after I have passed. Alot of disposable things in this world, that go in the dumpster in short order, but art done right, that will live on.
