Peter the Roman - Pope of Rome
When looking at the list of popes who come before the last pope something occured to me what if Peter the Roman wasnt a name of a Pope but a reference to the title itself - Peter the Roman, Peter of Rome, Pope of Rome.

Maybe I'm wrong but since theres no number attached to the name like all the others before it maybe its not a name but a title, a title which can be applied to all the popes or the last pope on the list.

If that was the case then that would make Benedict XVI the last Peter the Roman.

Dont want to offend anyone with my opinion but thats what comes across to me with this 111 numbered names 112 titles list.

Re: Peter the Roman - Pope of Rome
I don't think Benedict is the last pope, but OP is right, the last pope doesn't necessarily have to have the name Peter. Most of the descriptions of the popes in Malachy's prophecies are a play on words. Like, Benedict is called " the Glory of the Olives" and the olive branch is a symbol of the Benedictines and he took the name Benedict as Pope. John Paul was "from the labor of the sun" and he was born on a solar eclipse.
So, Peter the Roman might be symbolic of something. Like, he's saying the first (first Pope was Peter) shall be last.
How does anybody know for sure who the next Pope will be?

The last pope will be BAARRACCK HUSSEEIINN OBBAMMAA !!

He will get his stooges to get him elected pope and that will be the end of Christianity as we know it. After becoming Pope, Obama wil try to force Christians to convert to either Judaism or Islam.

Yeah, there are websites that list the ones they think might be chosen. It said the Pope usually appoints the one he wants to be his sucessor as Bishop of Milan. Thing is, I don't think this pope is very popular with the Cardinals, for one reason because he's really Conservative, so they may decide to vote in his opposite, a progressive.

No no Peter the Roman died on an upside down cross and therefore an upside down cross is his symbol. So this prophecy is referring to antichrist.

Re: Peter the Roman - Pope of Rome
What do you think of this( OP Peter or Petrus the Rome will be the new popes name- although he had another name this name is the highest name and I don’t think anybody choose this name before
Look at this:

Yes, although smoke will not get a Pope is chosen.

A secret conclave began talks yesterday in Rome to elect new leader of the Jesuits - the so-called Black Pope - "the black pope".

225 representatives worldwide will elect the new leader of the most influential, controversial but interworking prestigious Catholic clerical order.

The name "black pope" comes from color garment you wear Jesuits, Sovereign of the Vatican is traditionally dressed in white. entire manifestation of choice is different from the Jesuit leader known for designating the head of the Vatican.

The current leader of the Jesuit order, Father Peter-Hans Kolvenbach (pictured), aged 79 years Benedict was allowed to withdraw. The reason is old age. Olandzul Kolvenbach is in this position since 1983 and led to the Jesuits went through one of the most difficult periods of their existence for 468 years.

Caristamticul Kolvenbach's predecessor, Pedro Arrupe Basque, had some conflicts with Pope John Paul II, who did not hesitate to criticize the order of the Jesuits declaring it to Arrupe's time, too independent, leftist and politicized - particularly South America. In the early 80, Arrupe suffered a heart attack at obigat what Pope John Paul II personally to send a delegate to lead oridinul iezutilor. That period remained in history as "martial law the Pope".

When he came into power, Kolvenbach was in sharp contrast to its predecessor, thus entered the Vatican bars. Dutch parent covered over 25 years at the helm of the order founded in 1540 by St. Ignatius of Loyola.

In the '60s, the order originally known as the Society of Jesus - includes only men - counts 36,000 members worldwide. Of these, over 19,200 members were involved in education, refugees and other social services.

The new Jesuit leader is elected by secret ballot. After being selected, delegates are not allowed to leave until it is informed incaprea Benedict, is preserved the tradition which says that first you have to know who the new "black pope" is the white pope (Benedict).

Iezutilor conclave and offers them the opportunity to discuss priorities and future provocariel.

2008 is an election year ... another important Christian society Urmana Southern Baptist Convention in June. Favorite so far for this position is known seminar leader Albert Mohler of Southern Baptist Convention

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12358849

Do you know why because Peter the Disciple of Jesus did not see himself worthy enough to die the same way Jesus died on the cross, and that is why he was hung upside down. The Antichrist got to much pride to do the same thing. But Peter was the highest name of all other popes and nobody saw them worthy enough to use that name. But surely the The Falls Prophet will want to use this name.
Remember this is not the name of the antichrist
