Almost all qualitative music gets virtualy no attention from the MSM. I cant even go to the grocery store without loud bass gangsta rap , complete with swearing, and fights in the frozen food aisle... Really makes me not want to go out any longer when this is all i see and hear.

Sadly mistaken on there being no good artists since the 80's. If you only listen to the radio or music TV, then yes, you will only hear crap.

The good stuff is underground. Or was underground. And most of the great rappers these days... are white when it comes to creativity. Most of these 'Dictionary Rappers' have no idea what they are even talking about. Struggling to find words that rhyme together, but yet make no sense.

The sickest WHITE MC and sickest MC period... Atmosphere. Makes old school MC's look like childs play the way he can flow. And I LOVE old school hip hop! KRS One, Eric B & Rakim, Whoodini, Big Daddy Kane ect.... And KRS is still producing, or was.

Atmosphere, Some of his older stuff, my gawd... the flow is just insane. And when he freestyles... he will make you cry if you go against him.

That's the problem these days. People limit themselves to where and how they hear new music. The problem is knowing where to start though. The internet is awesome. Especially Pandora. Before all that I went off record labels. I would look at other artists on the label they are on. And a chain reaction begins.

However, since about 2010... it all stopped. No more good artists or decent artists producing. In all genres that I like. What happened?!?!

There is a reason... they do not want people listing to music that will wake them up. Instead keep the general population mad, pissed off, depressed about love or just plain clueless. Most music on the radio is meaningless and pointless. People also fail to realize how impactful music, sounds and especially lyrics have on people. How is violent angry music no different than listening to someone repeat "Kill everybody" over and over again? Exaggeration of course, but you get the idea. Or someone always listening to music singing about love, bad love and get even more depressed.

Its amazing to what a persons way of thinking, personality and self persona changes to based on the music they listen to. Hell... just watch your children as they progress from one genre to another.
