i called the police a few weeks ago because sombody ran over my mailbox with their car and sped away.....first thing the responding officer did was run my name for warrants.....never calling again

Yes, I know, I'm just so very angry right now. The reason he gave the lecture was that we had not called the second it happened. I tried to explain that my husband didn't even tell me until yesterday, but it didn't matter. He kept saying "You people" can't expect us to do our jobs if you don't call us. I said the recycle place already told me that they have good memories and he kept cutting me off pointing and shakin his finger in my face and leaning and moving towards me at the same time.
He didn't get a full report because he refused to listen to me and when I stated that I would not listen to a minute more of his lecture, he went off even more.

Learn to protect yourself. If you have big dogs keep them in the yard to help deter criminals. And remember, NEVER trust the police.

the only cops i prefer to deal with are the older generation cops in their 50s or older. they tend to not be out on the streets these days though. my older brother was a trained officer of the law and he said police training school in the late 90s, early 2000s was more about busting in heads than actually learning the law.

i feel you bro. i got arrested last ocotober for asking someone to get out of my house. harrasment because i touched his shoulder inside my house. i fought it and won but i didn't think i was going to win up until the judge gave his verdict. i actually had a good cop during the arrest and he highly suggested i fight it and he blamed it on 9/11 and the patriot act.

I'm armed and have a big dog, it happened at a place that we have been fixing up, so no one was there. Since he did not get a full report, I was thinking that I would call in the rest of it, but, is that smart? Probably not. I should have NEVER called the bastards to begin with. He threatened to arrest me as he was walking back to his car, for what I don't know, a tazer? His gun? I didn't have time to notice, but surely he was armed?
I was threatened with arrest for saying the word "f@#k", and on my own property. I am so upset. What would ya'll do? Call in the rest of the report or just forget the whole thing? I have a name of a suspect and I should have just dealt with that guy myself. I will never call them again. My daughter was molested a year ago and absolutely REFUSED to allow me to call them, now I understand exactly why. And, btw, she was an adult at the time, so there really was nothing I could do. THAT is what we get now, molestation goes unreported because these guys are all INSANE now.

My brother in Law, who is sound aslep btw, got there in the nick of time aand kept me from being arrested, but that is why the report is not accurate, because the cop REFUSED to allow me to go onto another property of mine to take the report from me.

i once had to report stolen id and checks and documents. they didn't ask further questions. threatened me with arrest and shit saying i was lying. i left the station mad as hell.
i said screw my credit then. thankfully the bank never came after me in time for all the bad checks who ever wrote afterward.

Just a little update, I did call and they wanted me to file a complaint against the officer and I refused, stating that it would only make it worse for me, which I am sure that it will. They then insisted that the Sergeant call me and that someone else would actually have to come out to take the rest of the report. I told them to never mind, that the very last thing I wanted was to have yet ANOTHER police officer come out to abuse me again and to please behave as if I had never called. I was crying and stated that I was afraid for my life. Let them think what they want, at least now they might leave us alone. That's all I want at this point, to hell with the loss, to hell with the fact that we more than likely KNOW who took the stuff, I just want to be left alone and unmolested by these psychopaths.
Isn't this just SICK???? The ONLY thing that makes me feel better is the fact that I did tell him straight up that HE is the reason NOBODY trusts the Police anymore, that HE is the reason that I hesitated calling in the first place, that HE was the one giving a lecture with finger pointing to a VICTIM.

There is no point at all calling the cops emergency number for something that got stolen days ago.
Unless you want a police report for insurance, in which case you can just go to the police station and do that.
File a report give them any serial numbers which they check with local pawn shops and that's it.
The odds of them finding it are probably higher than winning the lotteries.
Why call emergency for this? Its no longer an emergency?
