Oh real good reason to have children . . . so YOU won't be lonely.

There is NO, absolutely NO guarantee if you have one child, two children, a half dozen children, that you will all be close or that they will give a damn about you when you're old.

Sadly, there seems to be an epidemic of "kids" between 18 and 35 today who are too selfish and insensitive to spend any time with their families and too lazy and uncaring to roll up their sleeves and pitch in to help as a cohesive family unit.

I tend now to believe that the animal kingdom got it right about "birthing" . . . they have their babies, teach them to survive and let them go - end of story.

Humans are needy, greedy, and generally dysfunctional in too many ways to count.
