This reminds me of the, don't do anything strategy.

Don't do anything they might institute martial law!
Don't do anything they might shut down the internet!
Don't do anything you'll give them an excuse

Everything we were told they would do if we did something they are now doing even though we did nothing.

Doing something may just be that you refuse to bend, obey, pay, or follow any longer.

Although I think in the end their power will have to be taken.

I've been waiting at a stop my entire life being told things like, "well you need to get out and vote", or "be politically active", "you have to wait son for the right timing"

You know what the difference is between those who rule and those who serve.

Those who rule don't wait for a vote, a law, a moment, or permission, they force their will upon others, while the masses follow blindly. They take it! Like our founders took freedom. They no longer asked, begged, wrote more letters, or followed, they simply saw freedom and took it.
