Re: Does anyone know of any cures for Bells Palsy??
I've had Bells Palsy for over 5 years now and I'm getting to believe this is not going to go away... So I'm just reaching out one more time before I just except my condition... Please let me know!

When you say 5 years is that the full condition? Mine mostly cleared up after 6 months but i still have a bit of trouble with my left eye, cant whistle/drink out of bottles and get random painful spasms on the side of my face when i get tired.

Re: Does anyone know of any cures for Bells Palsy??
I've had bells palsy for almost 23 yrs now. When I was pregnant with my oldest son, I got it and for some reason it ended up shifting to the other side of my face... When this happened, it never went away it is horrible... It has effected me when I try to get a job because of my appearance... My teeth can't be seen when I smile some people don't even think I have teeth... I would like to know if there is anyway it can be fixed? I would give anthing to be able to see myself able to smile again... You don't know what that does to a person it is terrible....

Re: Does anyone know of any cures for Bells Palsy??
Depends on what the actual cause of it is in your case. Bell's Palsy describes the symptom not the disease process underlying the effect that you see. It could be from a stroke. It could be from an inflamed cranial nerve caused by some infection perhaps, it could be from entrapment at any point along the nerve back until the corresponding spinal roots exit the spine, or even from something in it.

If it's entrapment, you could rule that out with an MRI, or a nice CT would be cheaper and as effective more or less, depending on quality of machine, radiologist, etc. You could also attempt to maybe see if the symptoms get at all worse or better in any positions to test this.

If it's some inflammatory process then you could attempt to reduce some inflammation with dietary intake of tumeric, ginger, garlic, boswellia, that sort of thing. But that likely wouldn't help with the underlying process which would probably be presumed to be an infection of some sort.

There are also some conditions that can cause tumors to crop up along the nerves or it could be from some other demyelinating process.

Re: Does anyone know of any cures for Bells Palsy??
OP I understand what you're going through. I had BP and while it's gone it has left me with daily reminders that it can return any day. I healed fairly quick after getting the prescribed medications, one a steroid, and one an anti-viral. I find that stress, low levels of vitamin B and D, and extreme cold, make the symptoms of re-occurrence flare up. I can always tell when I'm tired or over-stressed now because my neck and face will tell me. If you didn't take any meds when it happened I don't think it can help you now but you should look into massage and vitamin control as these are definitely able to help your nerves work to regain some strength. Best of luck to you. oxoxo

Yes i have seen great sucess in reversing this quickly. Find yourself a good registered BOWEN THERAPIST and get them to do the upper respiratory and TMJ procedures. It is quick painless and very relaxing.
Another line of thought is that Bells Palsy is linked to pressure on the trigeminal nerve wich can also manifest as TMJ Syndrome.
May you find fast relief.

As an experienced facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Beverly Hills who has an extensive knowledge in treating those afflicted with Bell's palsy and facial paralysis, there are different options that sufferers of long term Bell's palsy have for regaining facial animation. Even though 90% of cases resolve naturally, success has been seen in using Botox therapy for sufferers of the disorder. [link to www.facialparalysisinstitute.com]

A good detox might help. It can be a side effect of a tick bite.

Olive Oil and Garlic cloves. That cures every illness according to GLPers

If that does not work, Rick Simpson Oil. Then use the remaining olive oil and garlic to make pizza....

Try Network Spinal Analysis, when I worked for a practitioner, for a few months he worked on a little girl that had Bells Palsy. Things started easing in her face the first day and kept on getting better as they went along. Can't say it's a cure, but it sure helped her quite a bit. Good luck and I hope things get better soon.

I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy 12 years ago. It has gotten somewhat better over the years but I know now that it will never go away. People seem to notice the palsy when I am tired or not feeling well.

Re: Does anyone know of any cures for Bells Palsy??
Sorry that you are in pain, always worse if you get upset and hard not to..

Guessing that if it's inflammation from Herpes/Shingles that Olive Leaf Extract and dandelion root extract might make a difference. ALWAYS try a little herbs/etc..first to see how your body responds..IF very sensitive try just on skin first.

Vitacost.com has the best herbs at best price. Barlean's Olive Leaf Complex(With peppermint)16oz. for $27, and 2 fl.oz of Dandelion for maybe $12. A shot of the Olive leaf and 2 to 3 eyedroppers worth of the dandelion will quickly reduce the pain and inflammation.
Should be enough for a month of treatment. Lots of folks advise taking a couple shots of hard liquor, and or Cayenne and honey to get the detox going.

I had shingles this winter and this combination literally has the welts disappearing within 20 min. Use 2 to 4 times a day.

If that helps add some North American Herb and Spice,,,Oil of Black seed(has wild oil of oregano and rosemary..Take 1 tablespoon with food, once a day. Pricey, 12 fl oz for $27 +/- lasts a long time.

Turmeric for inflammation, cook with it or take capsules. Excellent for irritable bowels.

Acupuncture would be helpful for the stuck energy/blockage. Foot massage, focus on toes and top of foot by toes.

Or, if you use stones and crystals try firmly holding them in your hands..Right ones will feel relaxing and calming.

Hope this helps..

Re: Does anyone know of any cures for Bells Palsy??
I have had Bell's Palsy since I was 9, I am now 44 and still have not fully recovered, especially the muscles that I never use. I started using Colloidal Silver last Thursday for a different purpose but have since noticed that my eye has been twitching and I think that I am also gaining some other muscles returning, just thought I would share as I was just researching to see if this was possible. It's worth a try... Good luck!

I worked with a man who had it he did accupuncture and the accupuncturist had him drink a tea he perscribed for him for a month or so and it almost went away completly ... The accupuncturist is in Lawrence KS , he is a chineese man who has his phd in pharmacology , hence the tea concotion he perscribed that worked on the bells palsy.

Re: Does anyone know of any cures for Bells Palsy??
hey man, so I'm assuming this is year six? or seven or whatever Im not sure I'm not you. but I was diagnosed the week after thanksgiving last year. the corticosteroids they gave me pretty much destroyed my body's homeostasis and I think I nearly died because of the attention I did not receive following the sudden dropoff of corticosteroids in my body. as a result, I no longer trust doctors. there is a substance which has shown extremely good results for sufferers of bells palsy, I'm not sure how affective itll be in your specific case but it has recently helped with mine when in the previous year I could barely smile. it's the methyl based cobalamin or b-12 methylcobalamin. B-12 is not absorbed well by the body taken orally, so I tried insufflating it, as well as applying it as a paste to places where the skin is thin. then I got an idea. I looked up the boiling point of it and could find nothing, so I made myself a guinea pig. I put a pill in my vaporizer after I used it for the other thing I use it for and had an epiphany because for some reason the ridiculous crazy idea to vaporize or smoke a pill came to me only after I had used it for recreational purposes, which, as what I was using is an anti inflammatory among other healthy beneficial categories of substances also seems to do its part in helping the nerve to relax and heal. well the results are pretty phenominal. i started two days ago and can raise the corner of my mouth higher than it could go before, and my eyebrow and ear are starting to give better responses too. I then got the great idea to put both my special herb and a crushed b12 pill in the vape and had the greatest vaping session of all time. no smell. i just felt wonderful afterwards, the headaches I've had since I developed the disease were completely gone and I could actually feel my nerve trying to send impulses to my facial muscles when i tried to move them, something I know you know would be pretty astonishing. but in the trial groups of bells palsy sufferers who took methyl b12 as treatment in the week it was diagnosed were better within a week of treatment. thats pretty ridiculous considering we still force patients to buy a corticosteroid that WILL destroy your bodies natural production of cortisol and leave you a completely stressed out mess with no way to regulate it and no professional medical help to trust down the road in trying to treat this condition. but try b-12. the methyl type. buy a vaporizer because im pretty sure its the easiest delivery method. hold the vapor in for 30 seconds (it seriously can do no physical harm to you) and exhale. if you want a power treatment add to the mix some mj. it helps almost miraculously. and if my face never returns to normal when it should have in the first week no thanks to the medical system, well at least I got high and still managed to enjoy my life, and my nerve seems to react very well so I feel like I'm doing something important. either way I'm not letting my quality of life be diminished by a disease that has a cure which is routinely not cured because there is no money in making people buy a super cheap vitamin. don't trust the doctors. they just want to keep you sick. and if it works for you tell others about it. I actually just searched "does anyone know any cures for bells palsy" on google to see if i could share my results with anyone and found yours) I hope you get better. no one should have to deal with the emotional and psychological trauma of droopy face disease. it definitely made me more of a recluse and it should be a distant memory for both of us already. good luck man, peace 5a

Re: Does anyone know of any cures for Bells Palsy??

wow, you know, when I posted on this I didn't have the attention span *for some reason* to read through all the posts, now that I have, it's pretty depressing. so many peoples lives have been affected by this. and it can be cured if immediately treated with methyl b-12. kind of says a lot about our world and the way we operate as a society. at any rate jim carrey in a tutu was clearly out of context. I was just in a really really really good mood. there does not seem to be a downside to the life decisions I am making right now. I hope you all get better. maybe you're not all as crazy as me, and maybe you wont place vaporized water soluble b-12, a vital substance that your body cannot create, yet is essential for a broad spectrum of things like nerve health and dna replication, on the membrane which connects directly to a nervous system pathway, and immediately incorporates the essential vitamin to your central nervous system. and of course offers your damaged nerve the perfect environment to repair itself in. where was I going with this? oh yes! maybe you aren't as "crazy" as me, but you should certainly look into finding some method of giving your brain methylcobalamin. if you don't... I'm sorry dude, you made a bad decision. In the end I'm glad to know I'm not alone. It definitely felt that way for the longest time. up to yesterday when I learned all you beautiful people exist. You're all in my thoughts. I look forward to the day when the curing of what ails mankind is the goal and not profiting from treating what ails mankind without curing it. We should all be smiling and enjoying every moment of our lives without worrying about appearances. The clinical trials could not possibly be any more clear. Methylcobalamin is the cure. And firefox doesn't even know it is a word. firefox isn't a word. Methylcobalamin is a healing chemical compound.peace

I've had BP twice since 1985. First time for only a month, second time in 95 for 2 weeks. First time Dr's thought electro-stimulation of cheek nerves would do the trick. Didn't help. I am lucky the episodes have not lasted long. However I have had moderate to severe tinnitus ever since the first episode. Best of luck to you and all the other sufferers' out there.

I have much success with two of my clients. I'm a reflexologist. Work on the toes and surrounding area especially the big toes and adrenals. Nutritionally add a probiotic to you diet or drink Kombucha tea. You need to help your immune system which starts in your gut.

Are you confident of this being the correct diagnosis?
