NASA five-rocket mission launch - discussion

Mine is fine .. they are answering questions ..

they went through a simulation. horizontal payload checks etc.

Somebody asked on Twitter where you can get some of that awesome Astronaut Icecream!

Thanks. They just said they're loading another vehicle and will be another 20 mins.

Can someone tell me please what time is it now at the site of the launch? I read the window for the launch will be between midnight and 3 AM?

I believe that will be another simulation. The launch is set for midnight to avoid FAA problems with aircraft from what he just said. So I assume that midnight eastern. 2 hours and 13 minutes from now.

Too bad, I'll be asleep by then. Oh well...enjoy the show guys, I'm sure I'll see vids posted here tomorrow.

it is almost 10pm .. I will be trying to get a video .. I believe they are saying 12am ..

I was scared I would have to wait til five .. I usually go to sleep at 3 and up at 8 .. I took a nap earlier so I didn't have to sleep tonight .. so waiting patiently ;)

Just for the record, I was reading up on this toxic chemical the day I heard of this. I read the launch was postponed due to the east coast weather. I also read that this chemical explodes when mixed with water. Well it's been raing this evening! I'm in NC.

The chemical compostion on the site had water in the rockets ..

I don't think they are launching tonight :(

The guy just said that tonight is most likely being scrubbed.

From the NASA site just posted,

"In order for the launches to occur, clear skies are required at three special camera sites located along the mid-Atlantic coast in Virginia, North Carolina and New Jersey."

I know .. and then they just said t - 90 minutes ..

10 percent probability .. 12 - 3 .. countdown to window started and they will be getting news from a meteorologist soon on the probablity update ..

Jersey shore here and there is a lot of fog tonight.

fog up and down the coast...wont burn off until the AM tomorrow, scrub it.

i thought the same thing when i looked at the fog outside, but it seems like they want to go ahead anyway? They just did more checks...

Dense fog advisory until 10am, go to bed...you wont miss anything. The guy said earlier this was more of an exercise because of the bad weather.

It's VERY foggy here in NJ, so if 1 of the 3 crucial cameras is here, I can't see how they can possibly launch? Unless the cam is up high above the fog??

sounds like they are talking a possible go ..

foggy there and foggy in new jersey .. every where else good to go .. thunderstorms hoping to stay south of them at wallops (sp?) ..

i guess the cameras are above the 200 ft. fog ceiling then. Bummer, I was hoping to photograph whetever I could, but can't see crap here :(

it is crystal clear here .. wait I might be lying .. it was an hour ago (connecticut) .. let me go see again they mentioned New Jersey was foggy as heck .. where you are by any chance?

Nope still good .. clear and nice and dark with no moon til the morning I looked at the satellite loop earlier and it look like everywhere but south or west of the area would be foggy/rainy

I'm in New Jersey, a few miles from the beach :) and yep, it's foggy!
