The president of the airport said Tuesday that he would apply again to use private operators to screen passengers, using federal standards and oversight. Read more here: [link to www.miamiherald.com] I hope all the airports follow suit. DP ___________________ An open mind, requires an open heart. |

Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." - Matthew 22: 37-39 "What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" - Galatians 5: 22-23 |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11511359 go sanford airport! fight the man! byaa! +1 I too was through there about a month ago and I couldn't believe that the airport in Knoxville TN had a full body scanner but Orlando-Sanford did not. Go figure. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1655522 United States 03/14/2012 11:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I do like the airport and it's stance on this...know this though. They have a MASSIVE police force already. On an island between the inflow and outflow traffic, they have a police force (and not just airport security...real police) of at least 10 cars at one time...for a tiny airport. They also have at least one car observing traffic coming in and out. I think they probably just want rid of the TSA because they got their shit over covered already. TSA are just fatties who like to feel up gramma and kids. I had one of those fuckers feel me up with the plastic gloves even after I consented to their cancer ray - I had a quarter in my pocket though. Too bad the quarter wasn't in loose fitting clothing away from my body so it wouldn't be seen, much like a glock could be. If I ever met a TSA off duty somewhere, there would be trouble. Should collapse ever happen...lol..good luck TSA...you dont have to come to us, we will find you...lol. |

Just want to elaborate that the "fuckers" who had their hands down my pants after putting me through the full body X-Ray scanner were not at Sanford but at Ft. Lauderdale. Sanford is among a growing list of airports who want rid of the TSA. Kudos to them - they wont win in the end, but kudos none the less. |

I have not done that yet because I hear horrible dreaded stories of either rape, humiliation, and/or radiation exposure and I fear for them to go thru any airport these days! Let's not stop at just one airport...let's do this with all of them !! |

They will not let them opt out, period. The entire charade will come crashing down if the do. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10017000 ^^THIS...it is a beautiful airport, on my top 5. This is all just sad. I'm to the point where I'm not going to take this crap anymore. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 3046777 United States 03/15/2012 04:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Everyone needs to remember that the naked body scanners are OPTIONAL. I fly a lot and i have never once stepped into one of those things. I always see the cowards and useless eaters lining up for them. If everyone "Opted Out" like i do the scanners would dissapear in a day. On more than one ocassion i've had the tsa agent tell me i was the only smart one. I can't believe that i am the only one opting out when i fly. West palm beach tried to get rid of the back scatter naked scanners a few months ago. They now have the 'new' model that uses tetra frequency FM signals. Supposedly only as harmful as a cell phone. Nevermind that tetra waves can alter brain function. Anyway i opted out there and three agents tried to convince me it was safe like they were selling me a car. I said this is more about principle fellas. So they gave me the usual pat down. If you fly, tell the agent you would like to opt out of the scanner. It is that easy. They take you through the old school metal detector, give you a pat down, and you're on your way. They have always been professional and polite. And they usually say something like you're smart for opting out. I've flown about 100,000 miles in the last few months alone. If you go through a scanner, well you're just a damn fool. And there's a reason they won't scan small children. Their DNA sustains too much damage. They figure you can take the hit though. |
