Take a seat glp, we need to talk. About ceaseless misunderstandings.
I want to address two issues I see getting batted around in EVERY thread with the word 'God' in it. People should debate, IMO, but if we can eliminate some pointless errors, maybe ground can be gained.

1) " Christians need to stop throwing their bibles at me, being arrogant snots, and letting priests molest children" God, where to start..There are Catholics, Lutherans, SDAs, mormons, JWs and many, many more flavours to this baskin robbins of know-it-alls. Then, there are 'Christians'. Finally, like me, people who believe wholeheartedly in Jesus Christ, accept grace, receive the Holy Spirit, and submit their will and time to Him. I care nothing for prepackaged idealology enforced by one set of beliefs. Christ never suggested it.

Aethists, when you 'define' "Christians" by the chracteristics of one sect, you wear your ignorance like a crown. Christ, and God never intended for men to take a gift, redefine it, rewrap it use it to get money. YES, organized religion is a poorly defined money making machine. You may not believe in God, but unless you're a shallow, narrow minded fool, you can envision the concept. Do you think your own parent gives birth to you so you can make money for them?

In summary, stop grouping true followers of God with the obviously corrupt factions dominating out there.
I keep seeing pathetically unfunny comments about 'the Christians doing this or that'. Comparing me to a Catholic is less accurate than selling fiberglass insulation in a cotton candy cone.

2) Once and for all, YES 'men' wrote scriptures, and the bible, BUT: The prophets and Apostoles were divinely inspired, by the Holy Spirit. I've had my proof that the Holy Spirit is real. I didn't get it by crossing my arms over my chest and discrediting what I cannot see. I'm spending no time here to convince you it is real, but I will say, ancient prophecies are manifesting daily, and accurately.
YES, the catholic church has screwed with the bible. Funny how the only really important parts survived even their wrath.
In summary, The Holy Bible was written with men's hands, but, they were guided by the Holy Spirit. If you don't believe in one, then don't bother mentioning the other. I can personally testify to the Holy Spirit, but those who stubbornly disagree even the possibility won't bother trying to see it. I'm not saying you have to believe me. I am saying the Word and the Spirit are one, so, if you think one is B.S., you'll think the same for the other. In such a case, just leave it out of your arguement, because you don't understand it. Aethists, nihlists and fools have PLENTY of people to speak for them. Please send the smart ones.

I would gladly elaborate, but I know 75% you don't like to read unless you see purty picksures. Likely the same group denying the Truth before bothering to really try and understand it.

You want to believe that, but you know you are wrong. I am addressing points made based on ignorance and denial. Anyone feeling insulted here should really consider the origin.

Aethists are quick to beat on quiet Christians. Tables turn and your heads explode-there. THATs what you and so many want.

I didn't honestly expect intelligent discussion.

Awesome op. I can see you are very intelligent and humble with your walk with the Lord.

Everything you said is spot on. I have seen you in another thread before and I gotta say I like what you have to say.

Sadly, many people cannot understand the Being that God really is. Many can only see the Lord through the lens of man.....

Well, I suspect he's/she's trying to politely call out people for being complete hypocrites.

You know the ones, the people that sit and cry and whine about how the mean, nasty Christian folk insist that they believe as they do ... while insisting that the believer should have no beliefs just like them.

Frankly, for me, what someone else believes or doesn't believe is none of my business, what's more ... I personally don't give a rat's ass one way or the other.

Of course, I was an atheist for a decade or so and this might provide me a unique perspective that prevents me from evangelizing.

This is not a religious thread.

I don't see how people can't understand that religion and God are TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THINGS.

Religion=man made and it's purpose is to detract people from God

I cannot agree that all books of the Bible are inspired by the Holy Spirit. I
do not accept that God, the One Infinate Creator, is one who will kill his
creation. Nor do I believe that God exhibits human like emotions. Some
books of the Bible are demonically inspired.

The funny thing about telling people what to believe, how to believe it, how one should conduct themselves,, what's right and what's wrong, is that you immediately make yourself a hypocrite. The true teachings of Christ requires complete forgiveness of anyone and anything. As hard as it seems to sit back and allow all these "atrocities" and "atrocious ways of thinking" (because we so very much identify with our "fighting spirit") it is simply a requirement if one wishes to accel in any way towards a deeper and more fulfilling understanding of the truth. Just a peaceful message to you, OP.

I will just reference this area. Mainly because I am so sick and tired of bible thumpers trying to force others to believe that the Bible was written by GOD. With repsects to your interpretation I have to agree. It was written by men with an influence they call the Holy Spirit, God, Angels whatever!!
I too, can personally testify to the presence of what you call the Holy Spirit. However I am not limiting myself to the Christian termanology of that experience. Yes it was a being from another dimension, yes it had power beyond human understanding and it had true love as it's essence.

I do believe that there are parts of that book that were devinely influenced in this way. And it is awesome that certain aspects remained or survived, if you will. The book is a history book with the victor claiming God told them to do it. The stories of the OT go back 100's of thousand of years. Yet those who believe in it can't even see that. So it is not just the fact that it was written by men. Holy spirit or not, many people have had their hands into rewriting and retranslating the book. And since it was compiled by a group of power hungry Romans who used it for control, much of it is distorted and worse yet, some of the most important and life directional aspects of it were completely left out. Easier to control others if you leave out the important stuff.

As for me, I am not a christian, though I have no doubt that Yahwah Ben Hur did exist and accomplished much that was said he did. I am not an athiest, because, well they just doesn't make any sense. Though I have to admit that your more imtelligent people tend to be athiest or at least agnostic. I could not accept any religion that does not include all aspect of existence.
