Where'd Jupiter just go??
I'm on the east coast so I need to know if anyone from the midwest and/or west coast can tell me if Jupiter is where it should be next to Venus. It's an awesome sight so you can't miss them.

Now...

Me and my girl were out walking our dog, JUST now.

We saw the planets and talked about how awesome they looked.

Then when we looked back, it was just Venus.

From what I could see there were no clouds that could have blacked Jupiter out.

So my best guess is something very large was sitting in front of it - I really don't even know what to say about it really.

We waited till we couldn't even really see Venus anymore before coming back inside - and Jupiter never showed back up.

I'm gonna be on edge till tomorrow night and I see both planets - cause this was just toooooo weird.

Peace and love guys.

I'm so upset I don't have a good camera.

Jupiter was sitting a little closer to the horizon but pictures would have proved that it still should have been visible in relation to Venus's position.

Well, I don't see any threads like this popping up so it must have just been our vantage point.

I still can't figure out what would have been flying/sitting/floating in front of it that would have blocked our view for at least five minutes(after that - I'm pretty sure it would have been past the horizon anyway). Whatever it was couldn't be seen either.

Jupiter and Venus are only in view for about 4 hours.

Re: Where'd Jupiter just go??
Well, if thats true - I was obviously seeing them during that four hour viewing time...

Doesn't change that fact that one of them was not visible when they were close to being parallel.

Exactly - they were close to being parallel - hence why I was worried about the disapearance of Jupiter.

I'm aware that - visually - the gap between the two spreads out as they get closer to the horizon - but I firmly believe that something was blocking Jupiter and it could NOT dipped below the horizon yet.

I'm from Ontario and they just disappeared. And why hasnt there been any discussion on this odd weather, no snow and Friday it's suppose to be 21 degrees Celsius.

If someone can go take a look at the night sky for me - I can work on the probabilities on what happened here a little easier.

I just need to hear someone say they went and checked and they're both there :) Thanks haha

You can't see them because they are below the horizon?

And yes - I've heard lots about the unusually warm weather up there. I'm in Fl and the weather has been very strange. We get no rain for literally - months - and then it rained like crazy for two days straight out of nowhere. Very weird for Fl rain. We're used the everyday little showers - they come and go quickly. You never used to cancel plans for rain here in Fl.
