Tsunami buoys go into event mode when the sensor detects a faster moving seismic wave moving through the sea floor. At this point it begins to report information every minute for four hours. If no more seismic events are recorded in those four hours the buoy returns to standard mode. In standard mode it records data every 15 minutes.

Just went back and looked and they are still in event mode. It has been almost 3 hours and according to the info I read they don't stay in event mode unless there is activity happening.
