Re: I have personally seen the laws of physics broken
I really like that you posted this, OP. You don't have to prove anything to anyone but yourself - it was your own experience, and it is brave of you to share it.

I have spent a lifetime experiencing so much of this that God doesn't need to prove a thing to me, he is here for me, he has acted on my behalf in the smallest, and the biggest ways. I know he is real, I know he is powerful, and I know that his ways and his thoughts and his knowledge are so far beyond our finite minds, that to even comprehend him fully, we will have to wait until we reach our immortal state and are in his presence.

I also find your statements interesting, as I have counseled people who were questioning the existence of God, or wondering if he's really out there for them, to ask God to reveal himself to them. If they truly seek him, they will find him. I believe this with all of my heart. It may not be in some magic trick type of display as they are hoping, but he already reveals himself every day in all that he has created, and that alone brings us to accountability. If he is willing to go beyond that to show himself, then we should be very well humbled by that experience and realize the overwhelming greatness who we are dealing with.
 Quoting: SaintIn

Thanks, yes this prayer is very strong.

He keeps sending more stuff; I told him okay, okay! I get it! I also apologized for being a knucklehead. But He keeps doing it, He has gone over and beyond what i would ask for.

I'll tell you this - God is NOT manipulated into anything. I asked with an open mind and heart and that's what I got.

Hey OP - VERY glad to hear you say you are "saved" ...you are "saved" as per John 3:3...yes?

OP, I speak with respect and curiosity...and certainly without judgment when I ask how you justify asking others to seek a sign in light of these verses spoken by Jesus Himself:

Mat 16:1 One day the Pharisees and Sadducees came to test Jesus, demanding that He show them a miraculous sign from heaven to prove His authority.
Mat 16:2 He replied, "You know the saying, 'Red sky at night means fair weather tomorrow;
Mat 16:3 red sky in the morning means foul weather all day.' You know how to interpret the weather signs in the sky, but you don't know how to interpret the signs of the times!
Mat 16:4 Only an evil, adulterous generation would demand a miraculous sign, but the only sign I will give them is the sign of the prophet Jonah. " Then Jesus left them and went away.

Again, I am happy for you, but am having difficulty lining up your charge for others when it doesn't appear to line up with Scripture? What am I missing here?

I totally get what you're asking.

If i may paraphrase your question, I kind of see it as 'At what point does 'ask and you shall receive' intersect with 'do not put the Lord to the test'?

In my case, I actually didn't ask for a miraculous sign. Instead, I asked for the truth to be revealed to me in whatever way He saw fit. I did not put the Lord to the test, I asked him to help me get it right. He sent a miracle but I did not demand one.

By my reckoning, there are, for example, 1.5 billion Muslims. how do I know whether they are right or not? I'm not smart enough, so i asked for clarification.

Here's what happened. I was in a hopeless situation and God personally intervened after this prayer.

"God, you did not provide me with enough information to make an informed decision about you. There are many religions and creeds to choose from, how am I to know? How do I know whether you exist at all?

Therefore, because I can't know without your help, you cannot justifiably damn me on judgement day, unless you show me a verifiable path to the truth. Please do this for me."

After this prayer, I experienced the laws of physics being broken. It might work for you.

All sincere prayers are heard by the Father, it is a divine law. But if it isn't soul-felt, if it doesn't involve the heart, the Father can't hear it or respond. It would be very hard for a true atheist to successfully communicate with God and get a response. I wouldn't say it's impossible, but no case crosses my mind at the moment.

That is true. I just don't like it when one person sees God as purely external while the other sees God as being purely internal. They are literally both the case.

Inner Spatial vision is the blueprint, emotion is the force. Use the two correctly and anything can happen.

But you need a VERY strong emotion for exceptional miracles. Which is why miracles often happen in times of need, when emotions are high and people vision the better times.

tell you what -- my experience itself is not important, nor am I. the prayer is.

so, please pray the prayer and then send me a message privately that you did so.

then i'll send you back a more detailed explanation,

my experience is not important, nor am i. the prayer is.

i'll accept your word on the honor system.

I prayed a similar prayer once.... and God showed me something that changed my life... I know exactly what you are talking about! I rarely share the experience with anyone anymore because it leads to ridicule and little else... but sometimes I'll tell someone if I feel led to do so... Either way at that moment God became very real..

Atheists I know are all smart. They have good reasoning ability and this is a big part of the difficulty with making a leap of faith. I know because I was just like them.

So, here's my challenge. You might consider exactly why this is causing you such a reaction. If you just don't believe it, why the emotion that goes with it? Do you think the level of emotion (that many show) regarding this message is congruent and on the same level with being told something you don't believe, or is there something else to it.

If I told you that 2+2 = 5, would you get this angry and called me a creep? I doubt it, you'd just chuckle and be amazed at my poor math skills.

But with this, such an emotional reaction from many. WHY? Think about it.

if you don't know who God is, don't take my word for it. ask Him who He is and what the truth is, see what He says. If He's not there, He won't answer. If He is, you gain much.

As I say, I know already that at least one atheist prayed the prayer and it got answered.
