Wanderer User ID: 12586044 United States 03/15/2012 08:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The shelter in Honolulu is not that great. Yes they do serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner but sleeping acomidations could be better. You only ge a 3 inch thick mattress to sleep on and you do that on the floor, no bed frame. And ad as I can tell, kind of crowded, but yes, the weather is very nice. |
Da Purple Chicken User ID: 2868688 United States 03/15/2012 09:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | my good friend was homeless in hawaii and he said it sucked. the natives don't like the non-natives slumming around their beaches. better off somewhere in the woods inside continental USA. i bet tenn. is nice. Well, the OP said city however, I personally don't think ANY city is a good place to be homeless - actually, I don't think any city is a good place to live with or without a home “If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower, and everyone in our family, our entire society, will benefit from our peace.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace "But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you." - Job 12:7,8 "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." - Hunter S. I would rather eat something I killed fresh than food out of a dumpster any day. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2144188 No need to be homeless, anyone can get a food stamp credit card. Buy expensive food for other at deep discount for cash. It happens all the time here in Texas with the Lone Star Card. |
Wondered ing User ID: 2746692 United States 03/16/2012 09:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Okay so which U.S. city has the best shelter? I mean as in a non religious she,ter in the southern part of the country because it is too cold in the north in the wintertime. And why is the one you tell me about the best in your opinion? I might need a place this coming winter, around November for about 6 months so tell me which shelter is the best? |

Are you a busker? A crafter? A beggar? A dealer? A thief? What temps do you want? Bay Area winters are pretty nice if you have a home, but 40* and wet for days on end stinks. The desert is pretty nice this time of year and dry, but lows can be in teens.... Are you healthy and able to walk 20 miles a day with your gear?? Do you need culture or quiet? Cannabis? Do you want to get off the street or stay there? Etc. |
