AGENT_P User ID: 6691031 United States 03/16/2012 12:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to buy some really awesome 18th century furniture and accessories from sellers in New England, until I bought a pair of Candlesticks that appeared from the pictures to be late 18th century, down to the seams, and the push ups on the bottoms, etc. and they turned out to be Chinese fakes. These aren't your normal 20.00 sticks, but go for $150-200 Each if they are real. I paid appx. $388.70 after all of the bids, and they were fake. I should have known, because identical pairs are very difficult to find together. I could not get me money back, even though I paid through Paypal, and within a couple weeks the sellers account was no longer active. Prior to this, their feedback was at I think 98.7%, but all of a sudden, several people who had recently bought from them left negatives, so I wasn't the only one they screwed. That is only one of a few unpleasant experiences, but the above was the worst, and cost me the most money. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 8524730 Estonia 03/16/2012 01:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yup, amazon is the new deal. Ebay is a corporation now and only supports OTHER corporations. Advertisements, 50% off deals on common household items, practically just another output for worldwide merchandise that is produced in the factories, by the corps themselves. Once you achieve a certain influential or financial status in this world, you will have no other choice but to play to the tune of those who have an even higher status than you do. And at that point the original merchandise you were offering to the people becomes obsolete and is quickly transformed into a hyped up package with no real product inside it. And there's no point in further discussing this either, cause everyone who knows this knows how it is, nothing more to say. |

I tried to cancel my account and they told me my account will be on there database because im a "valued" customer. WTF is that shit. My profile and everything is stuck on their database. I shop on Amazon now. |

my 2 cents User ID: 1040731 Canada 03/16/2012 01:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Silver coins are hot on Ebay. Wish I had known to save those 1964 quarters, in 1964. Recently figured out that's why Ted Binion had all those bars of silver, I'm sure he pulled it out of slot machine change. Quoting: Missouri Foxtrotter Very true about silver coins. I'm on Ebay almost daily looking to buy common date silver coins as bullion. People are bidding them up to outrageous prices. I don't mind going 20x spot on American silver but some people are going 30x or more. Patriotism is supporting your country always -- and your government when they deserve it. Anonymous Coward User ID: 5073312 United States 03/16/2012 02:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It has been pretty quiet on most of my auctions the last two months. I still get the "watchers" on the items, but it seems like the actual bids have dried up. I think people are running out of money. (Walmart sales were showing this discovery last year too). Personally, I have been buying other ebay items though. |

Cat Mouth User ID: 12355507 United States 03/16/2012 02:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hi All. Im doing my usual cruising on Ebay, antiques, collectibles. building sets. tarot decks, computer parts, Gifts for the lady like designer stuff . Quoting: ABADDON - APOLLYON . TOTALLY DEAD ! Hardly any Bidders ! I see O Bids, O Bids constantly . Most everything is at zero bids and about to end. If theres a sporadic one bid here and there its about to end and the seller wont make hardly anything What kind of stuff are you bidding on and is any action happening? This dead calm is scary, More stuff for me,but this is too easy. Is everyone out of money? Whats going on? Fee's and over saturation of wholesale prices of goods has ruined ebay. A lot of people are leaving and being spread out to alternative sites, etc like ebay. I use to do a lot of selling on ebay ..mainly sports memorabilia and bobble heads..would be in bulk wholesale and resell on ebay..business was good and suddenly everything went down hill after ebay got overly saturated with other sellers selling bobble heads and eventually another seller will get pissed off that your selling your item cheaper and selling more than they are and will resort to shady practices to find ways to get bad feedback on your account and/or file disputes with paypal in order to get you shut down. I caught a few guys doing this to me and i finally got ebay/paypal to see these people were purposely trying to hurt my ebay reputation ..they eventually got kicked out of ebay..but not all get caught..so if your in it to make big money..its going to be hell to stay successful now days. Also as i mentioned..the fee's from both ebay and paypal are very unfair and quite honestly..shady. I finally said enough with this BS and left..i had a good standing account since 2003 with ebay and paypal..i still have it but im done with ebay. I still buy items on ebay once in a great while if i find a good deal ..but most of my buying and selling is done on amazon now..they are more fair compared to ebay and you do not gotta deal with all the immature sellers trying to knock you off neither.. :mesig432: |

I would think more people would be looking for better deals in this economy? Interesting observation nonetheless... "There are known knowns. There are things we know we know.
