Unexplained power outages on East Coast

New Hampshire power outage map reports NO OUTAGES. as of 1143 est. So where again are you fibbing about?

Definitively a power outage. Lost power for about a minute here. Sirens all over the city.

same thing happened to me a year ago; power outage in my town and I was on battery back up

Remember cell phones have Internet. I'm on my cell phone Internet more than home computer.

What's causing it??

There's at least 4 power co's in NH, you checked them all? even then they're usually estimated.

1 minute is not a " power outage " Lol. that is a spike, or re route from a substation prob or transformer prob. So your power is on then since it was out for a grand total of 1 minute?

Cars run in to poles and transformers, cats get in to the primary, stuff breaks, bfd! It'll get fixed. Don't panic, breath in to a bag.

I would guess op is probably in area that went down???

One minute is an operation. Probably a tree got in the line and their reclosures are set for 60 seconds.

1 minute is not considered an " outage " I'm a medic we train constantly on emergency operations, our back ups wont even kick in with only losing power for 1 minute.

My power went out for one minute. Doesn't mean OP power is on.

agreed, however the power outage maps for new hampshire and the national outage map show 0. His post suggest that there are numerous outages all over New Hampshire, which is not accurate.

I would guess that OP is using PSNH which outage map refreshes
every thirty minutes. In all probability it hasn't even been posted yet.

I checked PSNH write after he posted at 11:27, PSNH still reports no outages

Some outages in New York and Eastern Maine, but non reported in New Hampshire.

That was within a couple minutes of the power failure. With the amount of sirens,I have no reason to doubt about a failure
on the grid. Also stepped outside to listen for the low rumbling, heard what could possibly be a generator running in the distance. But with the sirens and traffic could not pick up anything I would say was unexplained???

Ive had the national outage map up and the PSNH map up since his initial post, no changes for the last hour. What kind of sirens did you hear?
