I have done that befpore. they are vivid yes but they are very bizarre, almost nightmarish. I too would like to find something that will get me to REM quick with very pleasant dreams.

Suggestions?

Yes it has worked for me, but not every night. I don't know if you build up a tolerance to it or what.

Take 2000mg a night to sleep. Plus a bunch of other crap... Doesn't change my dreams. The only thing that does is stress.

I do have a reoccurring lucid dream. It has nothing to do with anything I take for insomnia. And I've taken it All over the years.

Find some Aztec Dream herb. Smoke this everyday. By day 3, you will have pretty lucid dreams.

I grow valerian and make a tea for a friend of mine. 3(or 5 if you find you need it stronger) grams is good for a single dose in tea flowercoffeecupand you have to be careful not to get too much or you can have side effects and the trippy dreams. I prefer lemon balm in my tea, no freaky dreams and it taste good too.
