Here is somemore information i found Cesium found in plankton almost 375 miles from Fukushima nuclear plant TOKYO -- Radioactive cesium believed to have been released during the crisis at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant in Japan following last year's major earthquake has been found in plankton about 600 kilometers (nearly 375 miles) east of the facility, according to a Japan-U.S. joint research team. The amount of cesium detected in the plankton was far below the government's provisional limit of 500 becquerels per kilogram for marine products, according to the team led by Jun Nishikawa, research associate at the University of Tokyo's Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute. However, follow-up studies will be necessary because the radioactive cesium is likely to have accumulated in fish that eat plankton, the team said. RealTime JAPAN – Evacuate Tokyo and All US Forces From Japan-Tokyo Radiation Level 25 Times the Fukushima Mandatory Evacuation Zone (San Francisco) Widely known Physicist Dr Paolo Scampa, the publisher of the EU AIPRI Blog and an eminent chemical physicist, announced today his latest calculations of deadly radioactivity in Tokyo itself. Both the nuclear regulatory and media responses have been missing in action. However, the outrageous statement of a Japanese politician pretty well sums up the level of understanding of the parasitic political class “Smile, and the radiation won’t hurt you.” The Tokyo suburbs are about 100 miles or 160 km South of the six destroyed, deteriorating and badly leaking nuclear reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi Station for Nuclear Reactors. Dr Scampa stated: “An absorbed dose of 2,94 microSievert/hour at 1 meter of soil means an average deposit of 9,065E5 Bq/m2 of Cs137 -0,661 MeV-. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 12464026 03/18/2012 12:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As we approach the tragic one-year anniversary of Fukushima’s multiple nuclear reactors’ accident on March 11, that initially affected the entire Japanese population, we now know that this nightmare has engulfed all of us. Let us also not forget that this is the third nuclear attack on the Japanese (the first two were Hiroshima and Nagasaki). Given what has not been done to ensure public safety, we cannot think of it any other way. From the very first day, there were lies and a massive cover-up of the extent of the destruction and the inherent radioactive dangers –not just from Japanese officials and TEPCO corporate reports, but also from the US. The Mark 1 reactors, built by General Electric, have design flaws. There are many of these same-designed reactors in the US. Quoting: Hagmann A year later, much of the corruption, deceit, and careless practices have been documented extensively here at Global Research –while mainstream news continues Orwellian doublespeak. Last month, in a rare but very belated mainstream account, CBS News reported that after the tsunami and nuclear accident: “The normal lines of [government] authority completely collapsed in Japan.” See: www.cbsnews.com/8301-18563_162-57386266/report-govt-collapsed-during-japan-nuke-crisis Early on, even essential radioactive monitoring was shut down. In May 2011, the prestigious Norsk Institute’s online site was blocked from the US. They had been monitoring on a daily basis the worldwide radioactive contamination to which we were all –and continue to be– exposed. Conveniently, any early radiation monitoring in the US was inconsistent, with numerous sites supposedly not working for one or another reason. Then the so-called “acceptable” radiation levels in food were raised in the US and EU: www.activistpost.com/2011/04/eu-follows-epa-raises-acceptable.html As Dr. Helen Caldicott and Dr. Chris Busby have repeatedly reported: “There is no safe level of radionuclide exposure, whether from food, water, or other sources. Period.” See: www.globalresearch.ca/PrintArticle.php?articleId=23902 and www.helencaldicott.com/2011/05/unsafe-at-any-dose/#more-285 So, what is not monitored, or where the radiation rates are manipulated, then no one –government officials and corporations– can ever be held accountable, nor can increased death rates, diabetes, stillbirths, birth defects ever be attributed to this catastrophic planetary event. When have we ever been told the truth about our life-long systemic radiation poisoning? For decades, we have been uninformed experimental laboratory rats since before the Manhattan Project. There never were any ethical or precautionary considerations. Greed and secret agendas trumped everything else. With various half-lives –some eons-long– of numerous radioactive components, the human race and every other living creature on our planet is on its way to extinction, due to the known sterilization effects of radiation. Here is a short list of the half-life of five of the radioactive isotopes that are and will continue to poison all of our children, and us, ad infinitum, in the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink and in which we bathe: Cesium 137: 30 years Plutonium 239: 24,000 years Strontium 90: 29 years [mimics calcium in the body] Uranium 235: 700-million years Iodine 131: 8 days [absorbed into the thyroid and gives heavy radiation dose. Also goes into the soil, passed onto us through cow’s milk.] In a report released just a few week’s ago, the milk tested in the San Francisco area still had radioactive levels of Cesium 134 and Cesium 137. According to even a compromised EPA, these are now at “150 percent of their maximum contaminant level.” Here’s the chart: [link to enenews.com] In addition, Fukushima’s Unit 3 reactor also used MOX [mixed oxide], a plutonium-uranium fuel mixture that is deadly. A single milligram of MOX is 2-million times more deadly than enriched uranium. Current radiation levels reported on Feb. 25 in Tokyo, 100 miles from Fukushima and an international hub, are “25 times the Fukushima mandatory evacuation zone.” The eminent physicist Dr. Paolo Scampa has reported in detail his latest calculations on deadly radiation exposure here (see page 2): www.veteranstoday.com/2012/02/25/evacuate-tokyo-and-all-us-forces-from-japan For 30-million Japanese this is an epic tragedy. The job of science is to understand. The job of ideology is to coerce. The people of Japan are not being hysterical, they’re being afraid because we told them to be. Without caring about the consequences. We know better, but sound bites don’t capture the subtleties of this problem. Risk is relative and only relative. Anyone reading this has a risk of developing cancer by age 70 of about 1 in 5. A risk of developing heart disease of about 1 in 3. A risk of dying in an auto accident of about 1 in 300. A risk of developing cancer from a radiation dose of 100 rem (1 Sv) of about 1 in 100. A risk of developing cancer from a radiation dose of 10 rem (0.01 Sv) of about 1 in 1,000,000. A risk of getting food poisoning during forced evacuation of about 1 in 1000. A risk of dying from lost medical care during forced evacuation of about 1 in 600. The risk of dying from depression, suicide or alcoholism in the 20 years following a forced evacuation from a serious disaster of about 1 in 100. If you have an overall risk of 1 in 100 of dying from several causes, then adding a risk of one in a million does not change that risk at all. You would be insane to focus on that 1 in a 1,000,000 risk, but that’s what we are doing in this case. That is all this discussion is about. Not about the real risks that exist from doses above 10 rem/yr (11.5 microSv/hr) that we need to address and to clean-up in those areas around Fukushima, but about the vanishingly-small risks from less than 10 rem/yr (11.5 microSv/hr). LNT forced the U.S. to spend about $200 billion since 1970 to save 100 virtual lives as modeled by LNT. We don’t generally spend $2 billion dollars to save a life, but we do when it comes to radiation, and Japan can’t afford this. It will hurt many more people to waste this money and this effort protecting against nothing when so many real dangers to the people of Japan exist from the tsunami devastation itself and the actual hot zones around Fukushima. This is not an academic exercise. Just ask the thousands of evacuees recently told by the Belarus government that, oops, we made a mistake, there wasn’t really any risk and you can go back to your homes. No matter that a generation of their lives were destroyed, that about 10,000 died from suicide, depression and alcoholism because the fear was far more devastating than the event itself, using even the most pessimistic pro-LNT estimates. During the first year after the Chernobyl accident, the average dose to inhabitants in Northern Europe was 4.5 mrem (0.045 mSv), i.e., less than 2% of the average global annual natural dose 240 mrem/yr (2.4 mSv/year). This was not worth destroying these people’s lives. And it is exactly the same as eating a bag of potato chips a day. Worth to read the whole: [link to www.forbes.com] G.Y.!B.E. |

I personally think that the Forbes Article is a little bit in favor of the Nuclear Complex and the Truth is somewhere in between of 100 and a few Million, i calculated that each year 200.000 People will be affected by the Radiation, we have medical Solutions for 80-90%, 10-20% will die! This Numbers are not tolerable and we need to avoid the next Accident, this is only possible when we close the older Plants as well as the Plants who/which are close to big Towns and to Fault-lines! The next F'Shima can happen everywhere so it is up to everyone of us to stop Nuclear Power! G.Y.!B.E. |
