I agree they do need to be studied. MY own thoughts on this is that every religion has the same origins; man made the changes, thus confusion has resulted.

I have things I have to do at the moment. When I return I'll cover the covenant if you'll leave me with which covenant you are referring to.

Sorry - I was under the impression that a general breach of any part or the entire covenant would have some form of repercussion and so did not have any specific part...just a general question...

If you breach any part of the contract with God...what is the outcome....i.e you breach a businss contract the entire contract is then nullified...

Looking forward to your response

Regards

Hope this covers it.

Everlasting = olam. It also means forever, perpetual, eternal, never ending.

The curses are in Deut. 28. It appears in Ch 29 that Moshe was telling them that Israel would break the covenant. In these next verses we see what HaShem said he would do after Israel repents and turns back to Him. As HaShem said it is an everlasting covenant.

Deut. 30

1. And it will be, when all these things come upon you the blessing and the curse which I have set before you that you will consider in your heart, among all the nations where the Lord your God has banished you,

2. and you will return to the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul, and you will listen to His voice according to all that I am commanding you this day you and your children,

3. then, the Lord, your God, will bring back your exiles, and He will have mercy upon you. He will once again gather you from all the nations, where the Lord, your God, had dispersed you.

4. Even if your exiles are at the end of the heavens, the Lord, your God, will gather you from there, and He will take you from there.

5. And the Lord, your God, will bring you to the land which your forefathers possessed, and you [too] will take possession of it, and He will do good to you, and He will make you more numerous than your forefathers.

How do we know that the covenant is still in existence even when Israel has turned from HaShem?

Leviticus 26:44 "And yet for all that (rebellion), when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, destroy them, [nor] break the covenant with them, for I am HaShem, their G-d."

Now we see also that HaShem made another covenant with Israel, the … Genesis 17. This is the covenant of Abraham, which contained no conditions at all. (Gen 15) circumcision (bris), this was inclusion for Abraham’s offspring for relationship, (to become Hashem chosen and to have Hashem become their G-d), Hashem does not state anywhere in the Torah that Israel could break (i.e. abolish) Abraham’s covenant, which was a land deed and nothing more, the covenant being long since executed and sealed by oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and therefore immutable.
