4 Republican Justices Control Fate of Health Law
WASHINGTON (AP) — Here's a thought that can't comfort President Barack Obama: The fate of his health care overhaul rests with four Republican-appointed Supreme Court justices.

His most sweeping domestic achievement could be struck down if they stand together with Justice Clarence Thomas, another GOP appointee who is the likeliest vote against.

But the good news for Obama is that he probably needs only one of the four to side with him to win approval of the law's crucial centerpiece, the requirement that almost everyone in this country has insurance or pays a penalty.

I can't believe the spin on this article. I can't think of anyone who thinks BHO's health care "law" is constitutional or prudent given the state of the Union. If I were those 4 justices, I'd start ruling on a bunch of unconstitutional bullshit that has been passed starting with repealing the Patriot Act.

They need to do their GD job!

I am very thankful that you are not one of the justices. The last thing that this country needs is more EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE public officials making decisions without having thoroughly researched the issues at hand.

Never trust your emotions or intuition as they will lead you down the path of destruction.

My emotions?

huh

Have you read the Patriot Act? The entire document? I have. My emotions have zero to do with why I want it repealed.

Am I angry about the crap going on in my government? You betcha, but as a research analyst I would hate to think I make my living based on emotion rather than thorough research.

Under Obama Care citizens are required to purchase a product - insurance. This is blatant federal over-reach and abuse of power as it is unconstitutional in the United States for the Government to force people to buy a product.

Imagine if the government told you what kind of car to buy, or shirts, shoes, etc. It's the same premise and completely goes against the rights of the sovereign individual.

It doesn't work that way. There first must be a challenge of the laws via a lawsuit etc...
 Quoting: Chip®

*nod nod* And so many have tried! But for some damn reason all of the complaints are thrown out before they even get to be heard. It's just unreal how oblivious this group of justices seems to be. Scary freaking times.

BTW.

Sorry it took me so long to respond to y'alls posts. The weather here in Central Texas is gorgeous, although a tad windy, and the Nolan River was calling me. Unfortunately, the fish weren't biting, but the quiet was refreshing.

After Obama called out the Supreme Court in his first State of the Union address on Citizen's United, I think the Chief Justice wants to return the favor in spades.

I guess I missed that. What does this mean in terms of all of the justices ruling on Obama Care?
