Re: *** WHAT'S WITH THE WEATHER? 31 DEGREES this Wednesday in TORONTO!! ***
Weather's definitely been weird. I'm in Phoenix and normally our temps in March are in the mid-to-upper 80's. Due to the big jet stream dip over the weekend, we just had two days of cold rain and sleet, with temps barely going above 50ºF. Our north country got a ton of snow, too.

Very strange. We're supposed to get back to normal by Wednesday, though...

Isn't this similar to how a pole shift would happen. Changing weather patterns preceded by huge wind storms, Remember the freak tornadoes not to long ago. Just chewing the cud, the sun doesn't look any higher than it should, does it.

the average temp for this tme of year in Ontario is 1 to 2 degress.

So ya 31 degress is only about 30 above normal.

Has this heatwave been going on as long as the string of Solar Flares?
 Quoting: Phillip J. Fry

My wife and I were just discussing this possibility.. Just before this heatwave we had snow squals with white out conditions(8-9days ago)which lasted for about 20 minutes an then as fast as it started it was clear and sunny with temps rising daily ever since. So we speculated that the solar flares altered the position of the jetstream which is allowing warm air from the south travel farther north...

Re: *** WHAT'S WITH THE WEATHER? 31 DEGREES this Wednesday in TORONTO!! ***
I spoke with someone tonight who agreed that this weather was the literal definition of "unbelievable."

Normally in March, they tap the maple trees at the end of the month. Well, this year, they tapped in the middle of February. We got virtually no snow, very little cold temperatures, and lots of rain and ice. Yesterday and today capped out in the 80's and, until the end of the week, it's forecasted to do the same.

We're lucky to be in the 80's in JUNE, let alone March. We always get these surprise spring snowstorms, but I'm thinking we won't this year.

And the sun has been so HOT. In an average year, when the sun shines in March, you still have that bitter chill in the air. This year, we're wearing t-shirts at night and most folks have donned shorts and tank tops during the day. A warm spell is normal, but this is unreal.

The weather here in Atlanta, GA is record breaking....so is the pollen count.

It hit almost 90F today......and it isn't even spring yet.

Our winter was EXTREMELY MILD.

This summer is going to be EXTREMELY HOT.

The weather all over the planet is acting up. For those who have been living under a rock.....starting in 2011, and getting worse and worse.....the weather ALL OVER the planet has been VERY unusual.

Some say this is just the beginning.

Personally, I think we are in for one hell of a ride. It isn't just the weather acting up, folks...

I'm in Atlanta as well

-Pollen count is record high
-temp is record high
-bees (carpenter, bumble, yellow jacket, wasps...)
I have never seen so many ever...
-everything seems to be running ahead at least a month

either a scorching summer or a really early fall/winter

time will tell

Re: *** WHAT'S WITH THE WEATHER? 31 DEGREES this Wednesday in TORONTO!! ***
lets think of the sun as a stove, on this stove is a pot of water... the sun goes through phases of more activity or less activity... sometimes the sun boils the pot over and that extra energy may be directed towards earth...because auroras are seen mainly at the poles, that would be a good indicator of where the "boiling over or energy" ends up at for the most part...now if there is a temperature imbalance, it usually leads to a pressure imbalance, and pressure imbalances create winds... perhaps the cme's are playing the most part, maybe this is known for a long timebut ignored for climate change scam...it must be ignored on purpose to try and scam people...

How do solar flares alter the position of the jetstream (for all of us non-suntards).
 Quoting: RedlicoriceRedux

"Low Solar Activity

According to Science Daily, a report published on April 15, 2010 in IOP Publishing's, Environmental Research Letters, explains how low solar activity may be to blame for some weather anomalies. Despite an increase in global temperatures, the UK experienced one of its coldest winters in the last 160 years, in 2009. Lack of normal solar activity results in a phenomenon called blocking, where jet streams over the Atlantic get lost in an anticyclone before reaching Europe. If lack of solar activity affects the jet stream, it stands to reason that higher than normal sun activity would also have an effect.

High Solar Activity

Depending on where the solar flux is and far it extends, it can reach Earth's upper atmosphere; the flux can cause the Earth's magnetic field to shift or warp. This shift in the magnetic field causes a subsequent shift in the jet stream. Solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) have a direct effect on solar flux."

"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another." -- Galatians 5:14-26

Yes it has.

We're getting the last of the solar flares (its been quiet) with no major coronal holes.

I'll bet that temperatures get back to normal once the jet-stream straightens itself out, because it's way messed up right now.

There has been 7 CME's that have occurred over the last 14 days... That's quite a lot. There's a good chance the CME's altered atmospheric pressure and heat up the atmosphere a bit.

I don't doubt that BP is responsible for the damages they have created though,... No jetstream, you say?.. What's weather like now, compared to before BP's GOM spill?

We have shattered and crushed temp records in Manitoba for the past week. We've been around 23-26C/80F. Snow all gone. Grass turning green. Insects swarming around.

I should still have a foot or two of snow. I should be plugging the trucks in so they start in the morning. I should be running my heat. This should be going on for a few more weeks still.

Never and I do mean never in my 40+ years have I seen anything like this.

Manitoba goes from -40C in the winter and moves into +35-38C in the summer. It is freakin cold here from Nov-Mid April. Not this year!

It is raining out right now and is currently 17C.

Solar Max come on down.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7715788

I remember a march approximately 35 years ago where the temperature in March rose into the 20s C (68+ F) for almost 1 week. I was loving every minute of it. Just like I'm loving it now.

Some winters, about every 1 in 15, are milder than normal and I've seen that twice in my lifetime in Winnipeg so I'm not alarmed. It has happened before and it will happen again.
 Quoting: canadian farmer

1970-2011 best temp in march 17c 23rd of March 2000
1970-2011 best march 2000 18 days of great weather 17.0 high on 23rd

1973 ok weather 6 day stretch 15.6 high on 26th
1981 ok weather 2 3 day stretches 14.8 high on 24th
1998 ok weather 7 day stretch to finish the month 12.8 high on 26th
1999 ok weather 6 day stretch to finish the month 16.1 high on 30th
2003 ok weather 11 day stretch to finish off the month 15.2 high on 22nd
2007 ok weather 9 day stretch to finish off the month 9.3 high on 27th
2010 ok weather 2 6 day stretches 13th-18th 10.2 high on 13th 26th-31st 18.2 high on 29th

These come from Env Canada Weather (Richardson weather station). The years inbetween have 1-4 days with a high of 4-6c.

This should be the best march in this time frame but who knows we can have 10 feet of snow still.

20's don't exist in this time frame but we have some good stretches for a few years.

This is the first time ever that I've tilled my garden in this early time frame. Why? Lol, because I could. I'm surrounded with farmers and the last few days they have been wondering wtf is going on. They know we've had nice stretches but not this kind of temp. It's all good. Shorts, beers and bbq.

The sun will do what the sun will do

It was 80 degrees today in SC and all the flowers are blooming. The temp is a month off in my area.

Peace to all

I was wondering the same thing about how possibly this crazy weather has anything to do with the BP Oil spill from 2010. Upon looking for any info about the effect on the Gulf Stream I discovered it has in fact shut down (links at bottom). So now I wonder what kind of effect this might have on the Atlantic Conveyor Belt of water flow and the effects on our weather.

First link - Thread: ALERT!!! GULF STREAM SHUTTING DOWN BECAUSE OF OIL SPILL!!! AND IT'S HAPPENING FAST!!

Second link (from 2010) - [link to www.associazionegeofisica.it]

Third link - [link to eddy.colorado.edu] - Select from under the heading "Gulf of Mexico Data" the "Near Real-Time Velocity Viewer" link

On the "Near Real-Time Velocity Viewer" page, first see the 3rd-from-bottom picture from 9/1/2005 titled "Historical Mesoscale Altimetry". This was from before the BP spill.

Then look at the next picture up - the 4th from bottom to see the same location picture except from 11/12/2011 titled "Realtime Mesoscale Altimetry". Notice the Gulf Stream not working as it used to. Thanks BP.

Now for the question though - how would this affect the Atlantic Conveyor Belt ocean currents? Between the melt-off of ice and the BP-induced shutdown of the Gulf Stream, this would explain the cold winter in Europe, but not necessarialy the warmth of the eastern USA/CANADA.

Thoughts anyone?

Clearly tptb are using haarp technology to modify the weather in order to promote b.s. liberal media AGW theories so they(tptb) can institute the carbon tax.

Solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) have a direct effect on solar flux."

no, europe is affected more by the gulf current in the atlantic ocean, not the jet stream, which has all but stopped reaching across to europe since bp dumping chems...it has to do with ocean temperatures, freshwater content and overall water temp...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12805428

There has been 7 CME's that have occurred over the last 14 days... That's quite a lot. There's a good chance the CME's altered atmospheric pressure and heat up the atmosphere a bit.

I don't doubt that BP is responsible for the damages they have created though,... No jetstream, you say?.. What's weather like now, compared to before BP's GOM spill?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7334965

i didn't say no jet stream i said "gulf current" which is in the water and affects europe more than the jet stream which is in the "air"... air can be heated faster than water but water affects temperatures to...

it is warmer here than last year at this time...i hope there is no major volcanic activity, that may well be the thing no one is prepared for, the stage is almost set for it now... and you should hope it doesn't

So maybe the Jet Stream is messed up due to the solar activity and the Atlantic Conveyor Belt is messed up by the BP-oil spill? Together this may explain the weird weather.
