Great point! I believe that Jesus can save us, if we truly from our hearts ask Him too.
 Quoting: Troubled Waters...

So i can just ask for saving when i die right?
 Quoting: Ballin' on Welfare

I'm sad to say no, but it is what it is. We are given a choice while we are still alive to accept Christ's death on the cross for our sins. If we do not accept His death and shed blood for our sins, then when we die, we will die in our sins.

Do you want to accept Jesus now for your salvation? If so, all you did to do is ask Him from your heart, and mean it.

Peace

Re: What If You're Right... Jesus Was Just Another Nice Guy?
Others interpretations of Jesus do not matter. What he means to I, and what he means to anther will never be the same.

His relation to each of us, is personal, and his love, unconditional.

He brought I back from the dead, even though I was not a believer. Lay, I was a denier, and even that did not make I a believer.

He has Saved I death and great harm many times, none of them made I a believer.

Remember the old saying, if ya want to know the truth, fallow the Money?

That's where I found Jesus, I fallowed the money. Had nothing to do with he, I did not read the Bible, did not go to Church. That's not where I found he, I found he where he has always been.

Seek and ye shall find.

You might not get the chance. It's a terrible gamble. We all don't get to play out our own death scenes, lying on the battlefield with our life flashing before our eyes and contemplating God while someone gives us a few puffs on a cigarette.

I found Jesus when I was 40 years of age, and it was only because I witnessed Him saving the life of a relative, after praying to Him. That was 16 years ago, and since then I have witnessed many miracles, just by people praying for one.

Thats what it took for me to believe. Please don't let it take you too long to accept Christ, for you do not know how much time you/we have left before Doom hits us.

What if its true- they say the cross will only make a fool out of you? And what if its true, what if He takes His place in history with all the prophets and Kings, who taught us love, and came in peace, and then the story ends? What then???

But what if you're wrong? What if there's more? What if there's hope you never dreamed of hoping for?

Please watch this video... I love you all!!!

Re: What If You're Right... Jesus Was Just Another Nice Guy?
Jesus is the most powerful MEME in the World. All whom have heard the MEME will never forget it, and when the time comes, they will use it.

Of this thing I am sure, I have walked in those shoes. Any can deny while there is nothing on the line, yet when it comes down to Saving, none forget the God of Salvation.

His is a power that can never be killed, proof that he is he. Burn every book, torture every soul, the Jesus MEME lives on. It has all been tried before. So long and there is Man, so too shall there be Jesus.

I mock those whom try and kill he, they are a joke. Never read a History book. Two thousand years of persecuting and perverting can not kill the Truth.

Fore the Truth is a life that can not be Killed,
And death is a life that can not be saved;
Truth does not require any to believe,
Truth is truth if any chose to believe or not;
Changing the Law does not change the Truth,
Changing a Book does not change the Truth;
Truth crushed to earth is still Truth,
And like a Seed Truth Shall Raise Again.

Deo Vindice!

Humanists and deists like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and many others regarded Jesus as just another nice guy worthy of leading a religious movement. Am not in the camp with these people. You?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4302482

I'm sorry for them, if that was indeed the case. The question I have for you is, do you believe He saves souls like He said?

Peace
 Quoting: Troubled Waters...

So much heresy concerning what Jesus "said". Unless one is "born anew" you will not be "saved"! The Lord God, the Father of Jesus The Christ, determines who will be saved and who will not be saved. Jesus is not the Lord God. He even said NOT to worship him, but worship the Lord God! Jesus is the "son of God". The Holy Spirit indwelled the divinely conceived Christ. Do not feel "sorry" for those who practice and preach iniquity!

The problem is he wasn't (isn't) such a nice guy. Tell me which part of the bible you get the feeling he was nice.....

There are way to many to quote, but here is one for now.

John 10:15-18
As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down MY LIFE for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down MY LIFE, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

 Quoting: Troubled Waters...

I hear you...I think you'r missing my point. Most use the "nice" adjective describing Christ in a derogatory manner. "I think Jesus was nice, like Buddha, Muhammed, etc." "I think Jesus was a great man."

In fact, there are countless examples of him being an SOB...

"Who is my mother, who is my brother?...

"I come with a sword.."

"leave the dead to bury the dead... etc...

I just don't think the "nice" option was something Jesus would be happy about...
 Quoting: Bluepill

man i used to think this alot. i used to think "Jesus is great and all but this is kind of rude" haha. but as i looked into these things i found there was really a different context for all of it. like driving the money changers from the temple was due to them keeping the word of God from the poor (or attempting to) and defiling his fathers house.

leave the dead... yea that was rough but the truth is that He is saying the time is now. he doesnt view life here as we do. this is temporary and if we want to know truth come now.

but yes you are right and i used to think the same way. i guess what i am trying to say is that if you believe he is the son of God and came to save man then His actions make sense.

i actually think along the lines of there is no believing Christ was just a good man or good teacher. either you believe He was the Son and is who He says He is or He was a lunatic. may sound harsh but it is true. i mean face it if you dont believe in Him then He did not have the actions of a sane man. i thankfully know truth and believe in Him.
All morons hate it when you call them a moron.

People always think something's all true.

It's funny. All you have to do is say something nobody understands and they'll do practically anything you want them to.

Still, he was tough sometimes, not quite SOB status. cool2
 Quoting: Keats

since nobody took time to answer this question I will

Let me say this plain and simple, please read the bible and the full verse, you guys are so good at taking verses out of context and then feel so smart like you just figured something out, let me break it down, the bible isn't a book you just pick up and read one line and done, each verse you have to study and look deep, ill explain.

1. Who is my mother, who is my brother?

While he (Jesus) yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. (Matthew 12:46-50)

Jesus said this so that he could let everyone know who he was talking to that his mother Mary and his brother should not be held up higher then they are. Jesus took that opportunity to make it clear that not even His own family (in the natural) were to be elevated above those who followed him and did the will of the Father. Every single person has the opportunity to join the family of God by believing in Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ is not a respector of persons and this passage of scripture has made that very clear. The catholic church failed to see that one!

2. I come with a sword...

Matthew 10:
1 He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority
to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
2 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is
called Peter) and his brother Andrew; ...

5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: ...

16 "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as
shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
17 Be on your guard against men; they will hand you over to the
local councils and flog you in their synagogues.
18 On my account you will be brought before governors and kings
as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.
19 But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or
how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say,
20 for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father
speaking through you.
21 Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child;
children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.
22 All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the
end will be saved.

28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.
Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

34 Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth.
I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

35 For I have come to turn `a man against his father, a daughter
against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law -
36 a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'
37 Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me
is not worthy of me;
anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me
is not worthy of me;
38 and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me
is not worthy of me.
39 Whoever finds his life will lose it,
and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."

The first important observation is to recognize that Jesus does not speak about "the sword", but about "a sword". Jesus is not a prophet of the sword. The sword of violence, force and war has no place in his message. What kind of sword is he talking about?

The above passage speaks about the consequence of being obedient to the command of Jesus that we are to preach his message. Some will listen and accept it but many will reject it and react violently.

We will be hated for the message of repentance that we have to bring. We will be hated because we call people from evil to light and because this message exposes their evil deeds.

For many it will mean that even our own family will turn against us.

What kind of sword? It is the sword of division that God's word brings. It is the division of truth from error, and the reaction of the darkness against the light. The sword that Jesus brings, is the sword that his followers have to suffer, a sword that is applied to them, not a sword that they wield against others.

And exactly that happens in many countries. The fellowship of believers, while full of peace, incurs the wrath of the nonbelievers. Christians are gathering peacefully, yet are persecuted.

3. Leave the dead to bury the dead

18Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.

19And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.

20And Jesus said unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.

21And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.

22But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

Basically Jesus was telling his disciples saying let the spiritually dead bury the physically dead and to follow him and preach the good word, This is in a setting where discipleship to Christ was the issue. In verse 19, a scribe offered to follow Jesus wherever He went. The Lord doesn’t give encouragement to volunteers. When He does call a man, in verse 22, that man has a more pressing claim – the care of his father until his death. Notice how the man says “Lord, let me first go away and bury my father”. When we are called to serve Him, He must have the first claim. It is also Jewish tradition to bury the dead in 24 hours and mourn for 7 days, this scribe was basically making an excuse saying I want to follow you Jesus but first let me do my own thing here.

** Let me stress this, people please read your bibles and study the verse, its not just a couple of words it goes deep, remember even lucifer used bible scriptures on Jesus but in parts to make it sound like something else, and Jesus used the full scripture and proper meaning to battle him right back! This book is a spiritual book not a physical if you read it like that you will lose all its meaning **

Surely he was, ye are wise. Mose was also a Wizard, the Bible clearly states it. Their power came from the divine, fore it was not Power, it was Glory.

The only true Magic, comes from the divine. Devil has no Magic powers, nor those whom worship he.

They have tricks, may look like Magic, it's just a trick. Once ya know the trick, doesn't work anymore.

Only one pure and true, can receive Magic.

King James, hid the truth, with cleaver words. Look at the Pope of Rome, Big Arse Wizard. Hello pointy hat, Latin Chants, Wizard staff, the list goes on and on.

Yet without Faith, these things mean nothing.

Magic can only be used for Good, for it only comes from the Divine.

26 And if Satan CAST OUT SATAN, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Re: What If You're Right... Jesus Was Just Another Nice Guy?
Jesus was not "just another nice guy".
He was a cult leader whose disciples built him up with lies, just like with all the others...Joseph Smith, Ellen G. White, David Koresh, L. Ron Hubbard...the only difference is that his cult was more successful than theirs.

When your manipulative mind control cult is more successful than the others, people call it a "religion".

Re: What If You're Right... Jesus Was Just Another Nice Guy?
...

LOL I have to laugh. If any Christian hasn't thought what you just said at some point they would be in denial! Good examples. It's funny how Jesus was made into a pacificst airhead by the so called "Jesus Freaks" in the 60's and it has carried on since.

Still, he was tough sometimes, not quite SOB status. cool2

21 Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child;
children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.

37 Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me
is not worthy of me;
anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me
is not worthy of me;
38 and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me
is not worthy of me.

While this could be said to be true, it is not. Ye have very little understanding of truth and Glory.

The Almighty has the power to turn any lie into the truth, such is the power he has.

To turn any evil, into and act of greater good.

Ya are buying into the "Dogma" that ya pretend to hate, listen to no other, not even I. What Jesus means, is what he means to each.

To know he is to love he, ye has just never known he. For ye is resentful of the Lies told to ya by others about he, and whom would not be.

It's lies, lies, and damn lies, brought to us by the father of all lies.

Seek, and ye shall find.
“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight.
Cease to do evil,

Yeah right! Why would He, His disciples, with the exception of John, all die for a lie?

Whatever choice you make here, while still alive, you will have to live with for all eternity.

Peace
