Officials say at least two tornadoes in the San Antonio area have damaged about 30 structures and injured at least eight people. Medina County Judge Jim Barden said Tuesday that four people were hospitalized after Monday's storms, but no injuries were considered life-threatening. Barden says damage assessments came from aerial views a day after powerful storms that packed lightning and hail and flooded roadways from South Texas to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Forecasters say north and central parts of the state were under a flash flood watch through dusk Tuesday. CPS Energy says 4,300 customers in the San Antonio area were without power Tuesday afternoon. Oncor (ON'-kor) had more than 10,300 customers without electricity from Dallas-Fort Worth to South Texas. Austin Energy reported nearly 1,500 customers still without power.

March 21, 2012 – AUSTRALIA – SES crews and the Army will help the clean-up in Townsville after a freak storm ripped through the city, as the weather bureau warns of more heavy rain for the region. Residents have described terrifying ordeals of being forced to huddle in their hallways and bathrooms as the storm tore open their homes early this morning. Premier Anna Bligh and LNP leader Campbell Newman have flown into the city, putting election campaigning on hold as they assess the area. Ms Bligh has declared the region a disaster zone and says the storm was akin to a “mini-tornado,” packing winds of up to 130 kilometres per hour. About 60 properties have been badly damaged and some buildings have collapsed, with much of the devastation centred on a one-kilometre radius around the suburb of Vincent. Shane Fayers, his wife and their two children were forced to take shelter in their toilet as the storm destroyed the top floor of their two-storey home. “Front kitchen’s gone, living room, dining room and just the front porch that was all roofed that’s gone. It’s just smashed everything,” he said. Further down the street Tracy Thomas lost part of her roof and fence. Erin Matinca said, “The whole house was shaking. The whole upstairs was just shaking. The sound was quite horrifying. It was very scary, but it was all over in a matter of a minute or two minutes. It was just unbelievable,” she said. -ABC

There are tornados everywere now??? US, Australia, NZ...?

Me and my daughter went through that monday night/Tuesday morning storms huddled in the hallway of our home.
It got damn scary for about 3 hours with the none-stop flooding rains/lightning/winds whippin around,scanner was going off non-stop for flash flooding and twisters.

Officially 4.56 inches of rain but my rain gauge said 6.40 inches,and we could hear this constant buzzin/humming sound for about 6 hours and it was very loud even over all the damn noise the storm was making.

Our local school district did not call off school that morning even though most steets were flooded,i had to move 2 large branches/tree limbs from my drive just so i could get my truck to the end of the drive so i could get my daughter on the bus.

Road was a small river flowing and i had to piggy-back my daughter to the bus,no way my truck was gonna make it through the flooded street a block away so i put her on the bus..it made it through.

But thats so sad that the stupid school couldnt/wouldnt put school off for just 2/3 hours in all this mess.

and then drill for natural disaters during that type of disater..ie the mexico EQ yesterday.
now all the drill going on and test too around New Madrid Fault!

Yes, there's a slightly better chance for tornadoes to develop in OK & TX - but the ST warning in OK stated that whatever develops will be relativly weak - just read the warning info
