New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton has been suspended for one year, the team will lose its second round pick in 2012 and '13 and pay $500,000 as a result of the NFL's bounty investigation, the league announced Wednesday. Former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who orchestrated the program, has been suspended from the NFL indefinitely. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis faces an eight-game suspension and a $500,000 fine. [ link to content.usatoday.com] Alot of the news reports aren't mentioning Coach Payton is suspended for one year without pay, that is a $7 million a year salary Payton will lose. He deserves it, the whole team deserves it. The Vikings were robbed in the NFC Championship game, the Saints should be stripped of their Superbowl Title. Also, NFL commissioner Goodell said that punishment for the players involved will be coming down later. And the NFL has reported that up to 27 Saints players were involved. Some of them should be kicked out of the league for good, and banned from NFL stadiums or any broadcast associated with the NFL. Especially for that player who put the $10,000 bounty for knocking Favre out of the game. Get the paper bags for your heads ready Saints fans, because you're gonna need 'em in the coming years.
