He was NOT right about that! If anybody acted stupidly in that incident, it was Henry Louis Gates for carrying on like a madman instead of explaining to the cops what he was doing.
All the police did was answer a call of a suspicious person appearing to break into a house.
Besides, Obama made his statement before all the facts of the arrest were even public knowledge which showed his race-based bias.

Even the black police officer who was at the scene said that Gates deserved to be arrested.
