Timing could not be worse. Who's going to leash N.Korea? Certainly not a chinese general. Who's going to fight for iran and their huge oil reserves? Certainly a chinese general. While china is still not a democracy, a military overthrow will change every relation with the US for the worse. Massive loses to US businesses that have invested trillions in china.

If this was happening now I feel like we would be able to find video of tanks in streets and shots being fired. with all the camera phones something would leak..

This could actually be good because China is the only country that really supplies NK consistently... they also are a big part of the reason people in NK can't get out because when they do, China extradites them back to NK where they end up in work camps and die.

Maybe if NK gets their lifeline cut off they'll stop acting a fool.

This isn't a revolution by the people, its a military coup. If anything, the people will have less rights if a coup succeeds. It's an internal power struggle. This would be like Joe Biden leading a faction of the military for control against the President. In the end, the elites are still in control.

I work in IT. I can assure you that the "Great Firewall of China" can do amazing things to prevent information from getting out or in.
