Fellow GLPer having issues getting to GLP

Fellow GLPer having issues getting to GLP
Have a friend and fellow GLPer who is having trouble getting to GLP today.

Her connection keeps timing out when she goes to the site. All other websites work fine. She is an upgraded member so it's not a ban-issue (even if it were she'd still get to the "you're banned" page).

The following has been attempted with no glory:

Reaching GLP via IP address
Pinging GLP (4 pings timed out)
Cleared cache
Tried a separate browser
Turned off all firewalls and anti-virus progs
Reset router

None of these yielded any results... she doesn't have a different computer to try connecting from.

Kind of at a loss... cannot see any reason that ONLY GLP is timing out on her.


Anyone have any ideas?

Have her type the address in full or use a link from a search engine. Do not have her use a saved favroite link it might have been corupted or replaced. Almost sounds like she is being rerouted.

GL thats my only idea.
I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw.

We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three.

if you tried Ping GLP (sure over windows - CMD - Ping xxx) than it must be blocked, over ISP or hosts file.

She can't even get here by IP address. If she pings it, it times out immediately.

It's like something is specifically blocking this website. I cannot get my brain wrapped around it.

she wouldn't have edited a hosts file... an ISP ban crossed my mind, but why would an ISP ban GLP? There are millions of sites that I would ban, as an ISP, well before I got to GLP (if I were going to ban stuff).

She just told me that she was able to get to the main GLP page.. the forum.. but as soon as she clicked on a thread, it timed out again.

My brain doesn't understand wtf is going on here.. lol

it's a problem with the cache, windows insists on using the disk not the RAM

Thanks for all the help...yes it was me that was having the issue. Ended up calling the cable company (charter) and having them reset on their end. Looks like it worked.
