Is the Sun Getting Brighter | |
theseven333 User ID: 6836720 United States 03/21/2012 11:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have very sensitive blue eyes. When I go out in the sun I cover everything with towels and tents. To quote Buffalo Springfield, "There is something happen here". For you younger people, it was a song about paranoia. Every morning in the Chicago suburbs I look up at the sun and cannot look. In the past it was a defined circle. Now it is a white light blur with no definition. I need to use smoke glass to see the definition of the sun. Perhaps we have cleaned the atmosphere so well that there is little smog. But I noticed the progression the year after lead was removed from gasoline. Look, Tessla showed us all that the earth is really a giant electric motor. The Iron core spins inside the earth and the magnetic forces generated give us a positive north pole and a negative south pole. The resulting magnetic field protects us all from gamma rays. But after over 60 years on earth I have never seen a sun so bright. I saw a bumble bee today. Normally they come out in August. It is only Mid March. [liveleak] Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12951528 Its either the sun is getting hotter and more intense or the magnetosphere is declining or both. |

I don't look directly at it, obviously, but I feel like it's this huge white mass in the sky and not just a light up there. But maybe that's all the strange haze we've been having here |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 7496616 United States 03/22/2012 11:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There are times, these past few years, where the Sun not only looks more white (didn't we use the yellow crayon when coloring when we were kids?) and when you step outside, it literally feels like someone is cooking your skin directly. My family is Italian and Portuguese and we always had a slight tan and would simply get darker when outside all day in the Sun. Now, sunburn and redness is within a few hours. |

Quoting: RedlicoriceRedux Could it be the deteriorating ozone layer? No as deteriorating of the ozone layer would make the sky not blue anymore. You will see soon when the sky will turn red that the Ozone layer got damaged. It is the Sun that is having a change. |

Subjectively I think the sun is getting brighter/whiter as well, but it would be great to be somehow able to objectively test this. The gases dissolve the ozone layer and expose the Earth to rising (and eventually deadly) levels of UV. This is now underway, I believe. I was in the outfield and I specifically remember staring at it for at least 60 seconds and nothing happened. That was 15 years ago at least and I did the same thing about two weeks ago cuz I just got fired and had nothing better to do.. And I swear for 2 days straight there was a blue spot wherever I looked.. I had to look at everything a hair away so I could see it. It has to be because of our emissions |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 11037285 Canada 03/22/2012 05:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was asking myself the same question last Saturday While returning home from the grocery store, I noticed that the sunlight had a different quality. Not only was it brighter than it usually appears to be, but it also had an almost diffuse, hard to describe quality to it. I think the recent and large increase in solar activity and changes in the earth's magnetosphere are responsible for the phenomenon. The persistently warm and unseasonable weather we've been having in my neck of the woods only seems to add more weight to my suspicions. I can't say whether the apparent increase in the sun's brightness is a good or bad development. Here's hoping this is just a normal variation, and that Old Sol isn't about to go supernova on us. |

Wasps, bees, snakes, they're all out. Grass already needs to be cut and its not even April. Makes me wonder about what summer will bring-- Quoting: vamountains no kidding... yesterday I was working out in the sun for only 3 hours or so and got a sunburn on my face... That`s a first for march. I`ll make a video about this in the near future. A hint for those that are watching this; look at the leaves of evergreen leaves (for those who are just coming out of winter). Some, but not all (depending on the species) are scorched only on the southern side. Clearly they are affected by the sun. We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are. - Anais Nin |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 11995489 United States 03/23/2012 04:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Our ozone layer is dissolving. In 2010, in Oregon, a wheat farm lost 40,000 acres. The plants somewhat shielded by stone border walls survived, but the plants fully exposed died. It's gonna get worse.
