New Madrid, Missouri

There are accounts of "artillery"-like sounds that were said to have occurred before or during the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811-1812.

interesting eh?

Could very well be the New Madrid fault causing the underground booming noises, its been documented in many countries around the world that at times there are strange noises, smells and lights in the sky preceding a large earthquake.

Re: Booming Artillary sounds reported before New Madrid quake of 1811
I do think this may be a precursor. Just think about it for a sec.
we have a number of booming sounds taking place almost all at the same time and all in a near area of the New Madrid or in an area with a fault line or something that intersects in some way to the New Madrid.
something is definitely up. And if that stink in Fond Du Lac is related well... there you go. I think we are always given warnings to quakes just have to learn to decipher them.
i searched booming sounds before quakes and wow... why scientists are dissing this information kinda boggles my mind.
I think we should pay attention I am doing a search of quakes and what eye witnesses reported in earlier times before the scientific community got too big for their britches. lol

FEMA has been warning of a quake on the New Madrid for a couple of years now.
That is why they want everyone to be prepared and have plans made for evacuation and stores of food, water and prescription drugs in case of a catastrophic earthquake in that region.

That was the last time New Madrid ruptured.... it was so violent that church bells rang as far away as Pennsylvania according to reports from the time.

I associate the New Madrid group to the Yellowstone group... yes, shit was crazy back in the day.. and yes, it's all going to happen again sometime...

When? Who knows. What good is worrying about it going to do? You aren't going to be able to earthquake proof your house without a substantial sum of money...

Just know what you'll do if it happens and be ready...wigging out about it isn't really useful.

Why did BO just sign that executive order that would allow the U.S. government to take control of everyone's stored food and water supply and even force able people into labor? They know something is very big is very likely to happen very soon.

Wisconsin is no where near the New Madrid fault.

And if the New Madrid fault was acting stupid... I'm pretty sure the residents of Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, and Arkansas would see/hear/feel the effects way before anyone in Wisconsin would.

That's what I'm sayin'

and besides, the 400-500 people who are actually hearing the noises have a choice to pack their shit and go, or ride it out.

There are little to no accounts of "artillery like noises" for any of the mega quakes that have happened in recent history. I would imagine it is because the sound of artillery in 1811 was a muffled noise compared to todays. Unless you're accustomed to hearing 18th century weapons, a warning like this is pretty useless. Much less, none of the accounts I've found have said anything about it happening days or weeks before the quake. It likely happened during the quake as rubble began to fall in the distance, before shaking began under their feet.

This phenomena is happening in a lot of places, but this is the first that nobody can blame on something else. Bringing up totally irrelevant topics doesn't help solve the mystery or warn anybody.

i am saying it was felt all over the place.
and that quake did some serious fracturing everywhere. not only that but it started with the first quake in Dec. 1811 and didn't finish until several more quakes happened into 1812.
so the question is... in areas supposedly NOT quake prone WHY are similar events taking place in the SAME New Madrid zone??
good questions that need an answer.
don't think it is a hidden spaceship waking up or some government underground bunker system. lol sorry aint' going there. lol

btw...THANKS FOR THE PIN! cool beans this is interesting stuff!

The link you posted from the USGS confirms that the booms have no apparent cause.. there is only one earthquake associated with any sort of boom on their list. Couple that with all the booms heard across America continuously and you'll find 0 more earthquakes.

Much less, with the * New Madrid Earthquake * people heard the booms near the * New Madrid Fault Line * not almost in Canada.
