Many reviewers on Amazon say this plot was reworked from Battle Royale a Japanese adult manga [child porn] novel. Now a bloodline family member rewrites the book and Hollywood produces the movie at great profit.

This is the number one seller on Amazon with > 15:1 positive reviews. Why would teens or their parents want to read books where teens are being murdered for entertainment and sold into prostitution and give it a positive review? Why buy a book or a movie ticket which makes it profitable thereby encouraging the media and Hollywood to produce other books and movies just like it? Is this the future America wants for it's children?

So maybe we should just let kids read the bible instead. It's not like it isn't filled with murder, rape, incest and a supreme being that keeps telling people to kill everyone even the children and animals. Yea, a much better book to let kids read.

My 14 year old had to read the story for class.. so i read it also.

1. First they send your children to fascist style schools, where they are indoctrinated into a prison-like environment.
2. They are fed popular fare that indoctrinates them into satanic rituals: The HARRPY POTTER series.
3. As they grow up, they are fed violent, blood-shedding video games, that makes killing as casual as picking up a cup of coffee.
4. They grow up watching harsh reality shows where their brains are numbed with programming.


Now, ....they are almost there.

Religion, all of them , is mind-control.
They did not have HD Tv's then.
The main media were books, and before that cults.

You haven't even read the book and you don't know shit about the story. Apparently these days that makes one an expert.

hunger games is a sick, sick concept. Whoever greenlighted it for publishing and a film should be shot

So Im quoting someone who has read the book , and has seen the movie.

But, knowing what you know, how long does it take you to figure it out?
Its like a sense you develop, you instinctively 'sense' mind control before you know what it is.

The Goldne COmpass was a creepy MK ULtra type book too. It had a lot of other disturbing shit in it as well

For those of you who have read all the Hunger Game books or seen the movie, imagine that in NC it was a mandatory book to read in Middle school, AND on April 5 the 8th graders get to go see it at the theater...

Not sure, but I've heard the movie only covers the first book, not the whole story.

Sorry if it looks like Im blowing my trumpet, but this is sort of an introduction:

Seriously, my senses in smelling out agenda are really acute.
I can trace out hidden meanings in pictures, sentences, etc.
Most times I sense what it is. before being aware of the content in its entirety.
Other things too: Talking with my Spirit Guides.
Real voices in real time.
Stuff that can blow your mind.
Precognition. Lean slightly on the Psychic sides, but not yet gifted with acute psychic vision.
Can see events , generally speaking, and most times before they happen. My mind is blocked from events 'they' don't want me to see.
Rapid decoding of dreams , visions, and mind phrases uttered in my sub-conscious. Im fast.


I even will go further out and say that my mind is like no other you are aware of.

So I'd like to share some of these insights with you.
I'd like the advantage to be all yours.
I'd rather you work with me.

But its right that you be on alert and not trust anyone.

I read the trilogy (at my daughter's insistence) and found it to be more of a cautionary tale than mass conditioning. We can call any futuristic or apocalyptic literature "mass-conditioning" or "predictive programming"; 1984, for example. I prefer to frame them as cautionary tales, though they may serve a dual purpose. There are threads of resistance and a theme of revolution throughout the books, which I thought was a positive aspect and made up for the mediocre writing.

but I bet you're ok with the filming of movies like The Human Centipede and A Serbian Film.

But children reading these books? I admit I have never read them (and probably never will) but when will we allow children to be just children. It sickens me that schools are making kids read this and only reinforces my desire to home school my future children.

And once again we have another useless franchise (i.e. Harry Potter, the Twilight series) to entrance the masses. Keeping their minds focused on a fictional world instead of the real one.

I'v enjoyed reading them (and I'm an adult). It is a rather serious topic for juvenile literature, but given all the things we talk about around our kids, I can't say that it really is any different. The books have a very strong female character and a lot of passages debating moral dilemmas. I agree with an earlier post that the books make you want to fight back/revolt rather than succumb to tptb. And the books give aome interesting commentary to the whole phenomenon of reality tv.

I don't really see anything wrong with them, and I look forward to the film.

Saw it last night. Very entertaining with an open ending to set up for the sequels.

Yes the subject matter is horrific, but it's meant to be. That's the whole premise. Istead of legitimising it, the books make it clear that it should not conitnue.

A savvy parent would use the books to talk about these issues with their child/ren and use the books to open discussions about ethics, social mores and how the world should be.
