Just read a nice story about the connection between the above ground nuclear testing and lung cancer.....could be our wonderful goverment put enough radioactive material in the air during the days of above ground testing that it is what really gives you lung canccer....just easier to blame smoking insted of finding out the US nuclear testing killed all those people Excerp: The overall magnitude of lung cancer risk to humans from atmospheric radioactive fallout cannot be overstated. Before Russia, Britain and America outlawed atmospheric testing on August 5, 1963, more than 4,200 kilograms of plutonium had been discharged into the atmosphere. Because we know that less than one microgram (millionth of a single gram) of inhaled plutonium causes terminal lung cancer in a human, we therefore know that your friendly government has lofted 4,200,000,000 (4.2 Billion) lethal doses into the atmosphere, with particle radioactive half-life a minimum of 50,000 years. The reason...I have a dead father who died of lung cancer at 56 years old. He smoked 2 - 3 packs of rollies a day...no filter. It was the most awful thing watching him die that way too . Ironically...I smoke myself...my fate will be my fathers im sure. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4914062 I am really sorry to hear that. It is horrible to watch anyone be sick with that. I am watching my Grandpa so sick from lung cancer too. Only thing is he never smoked. His wife didn't smoke. His parents didn't smoke so he lived in a smoke free environment his entire life.
