There are rules of engagement in Flroida as to when you can and can't shoot someone...

One of those rules states you cannot go and provoke someone into attacking you then shoot them and claim self defense.

It seems like to me the neighborhood watch guy was intentionally confronting and provoking this kid into attacking him, no doubt about that really...

It also seems the kid did get into a fight with him but who knows if the guy attacked the kid first before the kid hit him...

All and all the guy who shot the kid IS culpable in this case...

Was the kid up to no good in the neighborhood?

Probably..

Was he armed and dangerous?

It would seem not...

The guy used unnecessary force to stop from loosing a fight that HE STARTED with a teenaged kid...

Now had the guy been in his own yard or house this would a totally different matter. But he was out "hunting" for criminals vigilante style...

As much as we'd all like to "clean up the streets" some times we just can't go around being judge jury and executioner out on the streets...

Everyone should be entitled to due process and lethal force should only be used if you are attacked - unprovoked.

The panthers are awsome! I knew some growing up and the were all very disciplined and had a strong sense of morality and not the silly kind like abortion issues and homophobia but the kind that cut through politics and sought out equality. I am a fan of any group that stands up to injustice and prejudice. Zimmerman should rot in jail.
