More energetic collisions than those at CERN happen every day in the upper atmosphere. If these collisions (producing black holes) posed a threat to the earth, we'd have been sucked in and spat out as Hawking radiation millions of years ago.

Sounds like someone ought to throw a wrench into that puppy.

As Brian Cox puts it - the universe is conducting millions of experiments every second, at far higher energies that CERN, or any future particle accelerator could ever hope to achieve. So far it hasn't had any of the catastrophic results predicited by woo-woos.

(Or something along those lines.)

Black holes are not space magic. They cannot be more powerful than the energy that created them. And the energy creating them, is minute, to the extreme.

People tend to think of black holes as a void or something that just sucks up matter. It's not, it's a physical object, a physical phenomenon, bound to the laws of physics. Energy cannot be created out of nothing. You can't get more energy out of a process than you put into it.

Ahh.....but that is the argument for the big bang and that is the EXACT particle CERN is looking for the HIGGS BOSON OR THE GOD PARTICLE

Black holes are where Energy escapes. Think about that!
Energy comes from the vacuum. If you create a black hole, no matter how small, you create a RIP in the fabric of space/time.

I don't have a contention since I don't even understand what you are trying to imply.

As for CERN, the goal of the LHC is to figure out what "spacetime" is made out of (the theory currently involves the higgs boson field) and as an extension it should clear up some blind spots into what the big bang is (which is essentially the expansion of spacetime).
