Three days earlier, a 19-year-old man was fatally shot in the 3000 block of South St. Louis Avenue, officials said.

Meanwhile, a 58-year-old man was beaten to death Sunday in the 3500 block of West Lawrence Avenue in Albany Park, police said.

Thirty-three homicides have been recorded so far in March. Police logged 22 homicides in March last year, RedEye found.

Putting yourself in a situation is getting into a personal argument over a girl or a sports team that escalates into a brawl. The way I see it, he had no business confronting the kid, especially since he was told not to.

As a neighborhood watcher, he abused his imaginary power. Sure, he had a permit to carry a gun. "Stand Your Ground" doesn't mean you can intimidate others like you have some type of authority, kill the kid, and pull the self defense card.
