Message Subject Kids being SECRETLY bused away from school - Emergency Preparedness Drill in Oklahoma - Update: *IT HAPPENED*

Is it possible it's just rumors being spread by the kids getting stirred up by a drill, or were the teachers themselves actually talking about the kids about being taken off campus?

My kids say that this drill has been talked about for weeks at school. There's even been staff telling students that if the drill crosses over into time for them to go to votech, that they're excused from votech for the day. That certainly implies detention (either on or off campus) to me. I do not get the impression that the leaving the campus is a hyped up rumor, but this cannot be confirmed. There were not rumors of leaving campus when they were forced to participate in the earthquake drill about a month ago.

As far as the HS kids have been told by the staff, they're being taken to the middle high campus a few miles away. But I find that hard to believe. Unless they're evacuating that school too.

I have a gut feeling that this is to train our young people that it's okay to be rounded up by men in uniform holding guns and lights flashing everywhere.

Did they send any type of paperwork home or was it just via word-of-mouth, the phone call and then the newspaper article?

It was phone call with recorded message at almost 9 PM last night (Sunday). Then talking with the kids about what they knew. They know about my conspiracy leanings and try to keep mom from going on "a rant" so hadn't told me yet. Then I investigated and found the news story.

Wow, something as important as this you would think they would at least send information home as well. Not to mention, with a pre-recorded message, what if the person answering the phone isn't the one the message is intended for OR...if they don't speak English?

I'm on the school district website now, I don't see any notices, you would think the would want the parents to be aware of something like this???
