It's like a field trip; but they should get parental permission.

Being taken away to an undisclosed location with no means of communication with your parents. Yeah, just like a field trip!

What if there was a family emergency within those 2 hours and you needed to get to your child? It seems like this is borderline ILLEGAL to take children to an "undisclosed location".

In kindergarten, they forgot to get parental permission and they took me to a turkey farm waaaay out in the country, let us pet the turkeys, then took us to watch them killed and hung upside down for the blood to drain. Yep. That was a traumatic experience I never got over.

Called BS earlier.. Seems Grand Lake has spent great amount of resources into adding earthquake drills to the safety procedure. Hosting drills in November of 2011

Oklahoma as we know sits on New Madrid. I being from Denver remember the operation Mountain Guardian recently where children were separated from their parents and taken to Mile High stadium as part of disaster response procedure. This probably is the same training in a different state. Really I don't think that anything bad will happen tomorrow, but what they are preparing for is indeed disturbing. Really in order to ultimately protect children from this would be to school them at home...

Grove Public Schools will have a mock emergency on Tuesday, March 27 at approximately 9:30 a.m. on one to the school campuses. The campus chosen will remain unknown to all until the exact time of the mock emergency to give all administration as well as students and teachers the opportunity to practice emergency preparedness.
Schools will be working in cooperation with local emergency responders including the Grove Police Department, Grove Fire Department, Delaware County Emergency Management and Grove EMS according to Grove Police Chief Mark Morris.
“Which ever site it takes place at, there will be a tremendous amount of emergency vehicles and we need to get the word out to parents that this is a drill. The exact location of the drill will be released early that morning. This allows us to better prepare in case of an actually emergency,” Morris said.

The students are having their phones taken away before the drill starts.

Also, nobody is told where the kids will be taken. Undisclosed location is all the information available.

A school system should be held legally accountable for that. That is appalling.

From what experience I have with recorded calls is that a recorded call cannot be used in court unless the other person or both parties know it is being recorded. But you are not in a court of law right now, so that is not a concern.

I know of a sick one too. Tulsa public schools took elementary kids to the fair, then they were allowed to visit the planned parent hood vendor at the fair who gave the kiddos plastic embryos of babies. Nice huh? I was in shock!

Why do they have to be placed on a "secret location"? Are they taking the cellphones so no one can "check in" on facebook and no one can take picture of this?
