well, when a lot of us were younger, there were no such thing as cell phones. So, yeah, field trips needed parental permission and we then had no means of communication with our parents. Just sayin'.

In kindergarten, they forgot to get parental permission and they took me to a turkey farm waaaay out in the country, let us pet the turkeys, then took us to watch them killed and hung upside down for the blood to drain. Yep. That was a traumatic experience I never got over.
