So because of one incident they will jail ANYONE that views "Hate" websites. This is very vague and sites like GLP could even apply. This is waaaaayyy over the top seems to be a deliberate attempt to try to take away rights! Where does it end?? My guess is that the law gets passed in France and then U.K. and U.S.A will try to pass a similar law. The western governments are all trying very hard to restrict access to the net and limit what we can see. Watch!! |

BRIEF User ID: 381742 United States 03/26/2012 10:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | LOL, at what point will people say fuck it, and just let the state take care of them? There is only so many rules and laws a person can endure before they throw up their hands and say to hell with it. I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

There is only so many rules and laws a person can endure before they throw up their hands and say to hell with it. The proposed rules, unveiled by Nicolas Sarkozy after the death of an Islamist fanatic wanted for a horrifying series of execution-style murders, have alarmed journalists and legal experts, who say they risk pulling the plug on free expression. Sarkozy, who is only a month away from an election, argued that it was time to treat those who browse extremist websites the same way as those who consume child pornography. "Anyone who regularly consults Internet sites which promote terror or hatred or violence will be sentenced to prison," he told a campaign rally in Strasbourg, in eastern France. "Don't tell me it's not possible. What is possible for pedophiles should be possible for trainee terrorists and their supporters, too." French law calls for up to two years in prison and €30,000 (roughly $40,000) in fines for repeat visitors to child porn sites, although whether the proposed anti-terror rules would carry similar penalities isn't clear. |

Logic would suggest that you take out the source of the problem and not the consequence of it...in other words, why don't they take down the sites instead of leaving them up and punishing the people that visit them? I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

Instead of burning the books, lets burn the people that read them! Seriously though, France would be better served protecting France and the French people by halting immigration from Muslim countries, than it is by clamping down on the peoples choice of literature. It's a shitty "solution" to an easily fixed problem. |
