Anyone can claim you committed a crime and have the police arrest you and charge you. The lack of a conviction means the person was erroneously charged...meaning they were innocent of the charges.

Why did you post that Zimmerman had former charges if it was to not imply that he was violent and therefore guilty (at least in your mind)?

It doesn't matter if the other party had any charges or not. Both had no convictions for any wrongdoing in their past.
