Interesting thing about Raphael,

I was told an interesting story about him; he was living at the same time as Michelangelo, Leonardo, Botticelli and many of the greatest masters all living within a short distance of each other in Firenze/Florence Italia, which was the main art center of the world then.

He was highly regarded by all his peers there, and he was much younger than many of those artists, and for a time he was allowed to visit the studios of many of these great artists, UNTIL they noticed he would have similar compositions or certain details in his finished work that he would observe in the new ongoing work of the artists he had visited and then use these "discoveries" in his own paintings.


Many artists took a long time to complete a painting.
And it is said that because he did not take long to complete his paintings, he would have many of them quickly exhibited for viewing when they were completed.

And those artists were ALL smart, and when they saw their own discoveries and ideas in his completed paintings, they all decided to prevent him from seeing any more of their work while it was in progress that way their discoveries would remain in their own completed work.

It's said that Picasso took that trait to an extreme.
And you wouldn't want to show him what you were working on either.

The Nazis stole every great piece of art they could get their hands on. Herman Goering, especially, had a taste for stealing the riches of Europe for his own private collection as the Nazis rolled over Europe.

When the War was over, literally billions of dollars worth of the greatest art in Europe was found stored in caves the Nazis were using to hide all their ill gotten loot.

Most was found again, some is still missing. Every now and then something pops up, usually in some recently dead guy's private collection.

The painting you are showing is not a Raphael. It doesn't show stylistic or compositional consistency with his other work linked above.

What makes you think it's a Raphael?

It's a male owner.

I would need floor plans or a list of apartment numbers on that floor to get the correct room.
