I listened to the audio and can tell you, Heaven is not built to cater to carnival-going countryside visiting shoppers!
The description of heaven in Scripture is all about establishing in the readers' minds the order, dominion, rule, excellence, purity, righteousness, peace, holiness, and sovereign presence of God.
God...remember Him?
The video makes Him out to be a circus ringmaster and city mayor for the pleasure of human beings.
If you trace technology backwards, you get science and the scientific method, because technology is the application of science.
Trace the scientific method back and you get philosophy and the methods of deductive and inductive reasonings. Trace those things backwards and you get the creative thought of mankind. Did you catch that? Of mankind!
God gave the brain and the keys to dominion of this world to mankind and left it alone. Man invented science, the scientific method, and technology.
From our technologies we get archetypes, symbols, and iconography of design that is the signature of man made applications. That signature is why we can "recognize" technology wherever it is, even if it is advanced - but in the end it is still man made! Man made!
The audio sounds like "The Jetsons" meets "Liyyle House on the Prairie" and ALL OF IT CATERS TO THE DESIRES OF THE FLESH, NOT GOD!
As one example only out of many in the audio: moving walkways.
Give me a break. Why are the sidewalks moving? So we don't have to walk? Why not? Well maybe we will get tired from all that shopping; or maybe we are in a hurry and have to get to the heavenly Starbucks before...before what? What's the hurry? Well maybe the sidewalk is just for fun. Our fun! Heaven seems to be ALL ABOUT US and NOTHING ABOUT GOD except as an afterthought.
Today's church is a phenomenon-driven church. It's sickening.

What I found charming about the accounts were the every-day-life descriptions of Heaven and the idea that as creative beings, we will still be creating for eternity. However, I certainly never wanted to play into any deception and I am wondering now if that was the case.
You make a statement that rang with truth for me: “Heaven seems to be ALL ABOUT US and NOTHING ABOUT GOD except as an afterthought.” This along with some of the quirky accounts is what has been digging at me. Heaven is about God and His glory.
Everything that I need to know about Heaven is in the Bible. Anything outside of it holds a huge potential for deception and I don’t need to be seeking it out. Heaven is wonderful and perfect and is all about GOD… and I’m excited that one day I will be there. Not because of me, but because of Jesus Christ.
I was reminded this morning of the thief on the cross next to Jesus. The thief was literally nailed to a beam – there was nothing that he could do or undo at that point. He could not be baptized, make amends to those he hurt, pay a tithe, etc., etc. He was done for. Yet, when he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Demonstrating that both here and in Heaven, it is all about God.
I’m still not sure if I should have posted this or not, but I am glad that we are having this discussion.
